War is destructive

There's nothing good about wars. Although people say they bring peace at the end, but of what value? Must people die first? Must properties be burnt down first? Must there be cries before peace comes to reign? No! War is purely total destruction.

But then, just as everyone replying to this contest is saying wars are bad, that's the same way the people who are involved in wars today once said wars were bad, yet they are into it now. Did you get that? Let me explain.

Let's say 1,000 members of this community are living together physically in a community. Just this same way everyone here is saying wars are evil, that would be the idea of everyone. But when the situations that warrant wars come, they are not going to completely dodge it. Yes, it's easier to say dialogue should be involved in a situation instead of war but then, when the urge comes or when nerves are pushed to the wall, it becomes hard to resist.

I'm saying this because I've witnessed community clashes. I have seen where a very calm and peaceful community was pushed to the wall because they wanted to avoid trouble by all means, but the more they kept swallowing things, the more the oppressors kept oppressing them until they decided to charge back at them and it resulted in a full-blown war. And yes, a boundary, a territory, was created at the end but then, lives were lost. And do you know the most painful part? They honoured the dead in the midst of the fight as heroes and heroines. Gosh! I hate that.

What I'm saying in essence is that wars can be avoided if everyone has the understanding that there's nothing good in them, especially the oppressors. But then, the oppressors wouldn't know they are the ones oppressing because they will feel like they are standing on the right path.

You know, when your loved ones are killed by people who claim to have superior authority over you, you will be angry and want to fight back but then, that isn't the way forward in seeking justice. But also, humans have blood in them and sometimes some pains can't be easily pushed aside. Yeah, the subject of vengeance is another thing to talk about whenever the issue of war is being discussed. How I wish there were a good and effective justice system to oversee cases that make people take vengeance into their own hands.
