Travel experience: Trip to Lagos

Greetings everyone!

I have a very poor record when it comes to travels. I hardly visit people because I love my space always, and I always assume I'm going to inconvenience the people I'm visiting. The only place I find it easy to visit is my parent's home, yes, I mean my father's home.

The last journey experience I had apart from traveling home was immediately after the lockdown, and it was my first time traveling to Lagos State from Delta State for a job hunting stuff.

Before the scheduled date, I tried reaching out to my relatives in Lagos to see if I could stay with them to reduce the expenses of using hotels, but none of them gave in to my request. They all gave their many excuses, and hey, I was glad they did because it was going to be hard for me to cope with them, especially one that has a pastoral code of life... I wanted freedom and space.
But because the money to have my space and live a very comfortable life(in a hotel) in my stay was not there, my boss connected me with one of his school friends. I was pleased because he told me the guy is unmarried, that's to say, I'll have enough space to myself.

Preparation for the journey:

My stay there was to last for a whole 4 days and three days of which will require me to leave the house for the function I was going for. I calculated it very well and brought out my neatly ironed and packaged clothes: four shirts, four trousers, three pairs of shoes, and with a series of inner wears for the four days. I didn't want to look local; all I wanted was to appear 'new' in every of my outings.

After bringing them out, I tried forcing them into the student bag, but they refused to enter. I decided to bring out my main big Traveling bag, which I comfortably arranged all and at the end, my bag was fat and looking like I was relocating to another planet. I just used my sense to drop some wears and pack the remaining into the student bag. I imagined what would have happened if I had arrived at the man's house with my big bag; he would have thought I was coming for a permanent stay. Lol🤣

Other compulsory things I took were my gadgets such as phone, power bank, and earpiece. Should we still tag phone as a gadget? That thing has life and it's a part of our body.

My stay there:

I arrived there at night around 10 pm, and along the way, I branched at a canteen and bought food. I had to do that because I knew the young man is not married, and I didn't want a situation whereby I will make him start running helter-skelter to provide food for me.
After taking my bath, I picked up my phone and laid on the sofa. He was so quick to understand my kind of person (introvert), so he didn't bring up many topics that night. I love it when I'm living with someone who understands me lol 😅.
After he was done watching TVC news, he turned off the TV and said I should go to the room whenever I felt like sleeping, and he left. Wow! The sweet-scented parlour was mine; I spread my legs very well while the AC was freezing everywhere,just my kind of lifestyle even though I don't have AC in my house.

As I planned with my clothes, I wore a particular trouser and shirt twice, and it was a comfortable stay in the house. There were no issues at all because I had my phone with me whenever I returned from work, and hey, we never cooked; I was always eating 'black' Lagos food on my way home, which shook my bank account very well, but I didn't feel it much because I was well prepared.

It was a good stay, but I won't lie, at some point, I felt I was inconveniencing him. What if his girlfriend wanted to come in the days I stayed with him? It's not easy.
