Tolerance in a workplace is so advantageous

Greetings everyone!
I hope the weekend treated you well.

I have my own simple definition of tolerance, which is the willingness to accept all manners of behavior. This further means that even if you're not okay with a certain trait or behavior of someone, you'll welcome it and swallow it even if it's bitter, like a bitter medicine.

I'm not going to take it far or say it according to what books or other people's experiences say. I've experienced where tolerance was applied in a workplace, and I've also experienced where it was not, and I can say that tolerance in play in a workplace goes a long way to trigger productivity.

In my first workplace, I worked as an accountant in a church and served many bosses due to how they transferred them on short notice. The work setting is that since I'm the accountant, also working as secretary and everything, I'm automatically their PA because I'm always seen wherever they go.
Some of them were welcoming, which made us not operate in the work-office thing; we became so close, and this gave me the mindset to give in my best. There were days that I would resume work very early around 7:00 am and close by 10:00 pm, and I didn't feel it because it wasn't burdensome. There were days also that I would receive a call by 12:00 am on an emergency situation, and I would gladly go and attend to that work, and I didn't feel it because I wasn't bothered. The reason for all these is because of the closeness, acceptance, and simplicity bonding we had. With this, when it's time for me to take permission with a reasonable excuse, he doesn't refuse. In fact, some of them were so close and knew that whenever Nigeria is playing a match, they're the ones to remind me and relieve me to go and watch. Why all these? It's based on the tolerance level we had.

Also, there was one, he was the bossy one among all the bosses I served. His standard was so high that until he left, we didn't have the flow. I respected him and his code of operation, but hey, there were hindrances.
The nature of work was the type that we respond promptly to any mail we receive at headquarters, and many times, these mails came in a very impromptu manner. Whenever such comes in and it was an odd hour (not a working hour), he dared not call me to respond to them. That's because he structured it to let the work thing end in the office. This thing affected us many times because he received queries.

Tolerance in a workplace goes a long way to encourage productivity; it reduces hindrances between staff and management. The long hierarchy bridge between staff and management is being removed, hence encouraging good rapport and teamwork.

Although this tolerance has disadvantages too, especially giving birth to over-familiarity which causes problems, its advantages are more.

Thanks for reading.

It was even good that happened because some people will just abuse you and use you to over work the moment there’s that much tolerance at work

When there is tolerance a more strong relationship between employees can be formed, and this can be very beneficial both in the short and long run.

If my effort is been valued and respected I'm more likely to strive to put in my best.

This is it, you said it all.
If one's effort is not valued, there's absolutely no need to go further, unless it becomes a thing of force.

Thank you so much
