To what heights do I take minimalism?

You know that situation where alcohol had once dealt with you so badly that from that day, you vowed never to let alcohol drop into your mouth again because you've seen both the bad and good sides of it, and you've decided to settle on the good side. You know that situation, right? In such a situation, even when you go out in the midst of friends, you'll order a soft drink unashamedly, even when all of them are taking alcohol and making jest of you.

When it comes to a minimalist lifestyle, I'm the guy who has chosen to be on the good side of life, which comes with simplicity, and I chose the lifestyle unashamedly, not minding what people would say. It's not like I have tried the opposite of a minimalist lifestyle—no, I haven’t. I grew up with this lifestyle right from the kind of home my parents raised us in. I have come to love this simple lifestyle, and I can't imagine seeing myself in a situation where there is more than necessary—it weighs down my eyes, brain, and mind.

Would I dare to bare it all in the midst of friends?

Oh yes!

Like I said in the first paragraph, I'm like the guy who has seen the bad side of alcohol and decided to desist from it. I have come to love this lifestyle so much that if I'm placed in a situation where I’m being called names or mocked all because of this lifestyle, I wouldn't feel bad about it.
By the way, I have been called names already, especially when I was in school. You know, some people easily associate a minimalist lifestyle with financial lack, but that’s not it.

It's not like I can't live the extravagant life—buying the same type of clothes in excess just to have options, or filling up my house with all manner of items just to appear rich or “arrived”—but no, those acts would end up making me feel like I'm living someone else's life, because that's not actually my lifestyle.
So yeah, I'll confidently and unashamedly bear it all in public for this special lifestyle.
