Take a look, there's a chicken here
Greetings, Hive Gardeners!
Look closely at the photo above—there’s a mother chicken living and nursing her eggs in the deep corner, covered by the dried yam plants. Did you see it? I bet you did.
In one of my entries in the Weekly Garden Questions, I wrote and lamented about how the local chickens in my area decided to wreck my efforts in the garden with their constant disturbances. It’s a natural thing. I did all I could to prevent them, but hey, these chickens have ‘stubbornness’ attached to their names. And just take a look at how one of them is housing herself and her eggs in my space. Because I’m a very considerate person, I have found it so hard to pursue her or pack away the eggs so she could leave my space. I see that act as being wicked. Hence, I’m waiting for her to hatch her eggs and get her babies before pursuing her.
How have they been contributing to the garden?
I must say, they have been contributing negatively to the welfare of my small garden. It would have been better if they were acting as security for the garden, but no— they’re just there, destroying the plants. Okay, maybe they’re somewhat acting as security by scaring away animals like snakes. Because for the chicken to be sleeping there every night, it means snakes don’t come around.
I remember back then at home, we used to experience scenarios where snakes bit our local chickens, and that scared us a lot, because it told us there were always dangerous snakes around in the bushes.
The spot which this chicken has been using as her house, I have checked there many times to see if I could get the droppings and use them on my plants, but no—there’s nothing there. It’s as if the chicken poops only when she goes out and doesn’t poop whenever she’s at home. That’s so funny.
Currently, I’m desperately looking for where to get fowl droppings to use on my plants, and I haven’t found any. The only option is to go to a poultry farm to buy, but I haven’t decided on taking that step. The woman who rears chickens in the neighborhood lost almost all of them to sudden death from what I think I know the cause of—but I didn’t tell her because I’m not sure.
It’s been very difficult getting fowl droppings, and look—a nursing chicken is housing herself in my little garden, and I still can’t get any droppings. So bad. So useless! Lol.
Thanks for reading.

What a shame, the hen took over your space haha and doesn't even pay rent by giving you some of her excrement, what a cheek haha 😂 but well, it's a good sign that there are no snakes 😲
