Sweetness and Bitterness in a famous life

If you ask me whether I would like to be famous in life, I would boldly say NO. I want to live a low-key lifestyle, be stinking rich, and neither I nor any of my family members would live a life of show-off in our wealthy state. Being famous typically comes with a lifestyle of show-off — that’s what defines fame. And if a once-famous person decides to live off the show, that fame will disappear within a couple of months. We have a lot of such people in my country who suddenly disappeared into a low-key life, and when they decided to reappear after some years, their value had drastically reduced and they were no longer rated as before.

Notwithstanding, I still admire the life of celebrities and the famous lifestyle. In the few years I’ve lived on this planet, I spent a good part of it in my hometown, and it was well lived. I had the opportunity to move with decent celebrities in town, and during those moments, I had a taste of how sweet it feels to be famous. I was highly respected because of the influence I had. Sometimes, I would be given a free ride in an air-conditioned car just because people knew me. I received gifts — shoes, clothes, money, and others — simply because I was known, popular, and loved by many. I truly enjoyed that lifestyle!

As much as I want to live a low-key life, if fame hits me with all the riches it carries, mehn, I’m going to embrace it and live with it. After all, life is too short to always neglect good things just because they’re not what we initially wanted.

Oh, it appears I’m being double-minded, right? Well, it looks like that, but it is what it is.

I like fame because of the wealth, love, and respect it attracts. As far as I know, being famous is neither corruption nor sin — it’s just a normal lifestyle that isn’t different from others. It’s just that people who detest fame see it as odd, the same way I sometimes do.

If I became famous and remaining famous was the only way to keep the good tidings that come with it, I’d push my low-key lifestyle aside and adopt the famous one to retain the goodies it brings. The challenge I would face is the odd side that comes with fame — especially the hatred that measures up with the love, and how people love to peep into one’s private life. I wouldn’t mind going to events and traveling here and there; I also wouldn’t mind appearing on TV to be interviewed. But my mind is too soft for the hatred that people pour on celebrities. Many times, I have vowed that if I were into football, I would never be a coach of a team or a national team like Nigeria’s. I would find it very difficult to cope with those hurtful words.

But, we sometimes have to force ourselves to swallow bitter pills when we’re sick, right? So, I’m going to swallow all the hatred and let the positive sides of being famous overshadow the dark sides.

Thanks for reading.

It's the sincerity for me, say na "if fame hit me, mehn I'll collect it"😂😂

I understand sha but that's the main thing, fame don't just come without you standing out in a particular field unless it's the Emmanson type of fame 😂
