Surrogacy, Law & Money
Sometimes I just think and conclude that some parts of the world are taking life too seriously, and there needs to be an orientation for such parts of the world to do away with some old beliefs. Although, if we look critically, it’s these old beliefs that are still maintaining careful and peaceful living in those areas, but I think there’s also a way things could be adjusted and still remain livable.
I haven't seen a couple or a family that did surrogacy. I’ve only heard about it in movies and in people’s real-life experiences. And in most of those scenes, the woman who was used in the process goes about trying to relate back with “her child,” meanwhile the child in question, by law, is no longer the child of the woman. The problem always arises when the belief in spiritual and natural connections gets into the head of the woman, and at that time she can’t help but go and claim the child.
This same thing happens many times when a child is adopted, and after a while, the child or the original parents—if they are still alive—start fighting to get the child back. Sometimes, even when the original parents are long gone, the child, once grown up, begins seeking to know the original family, even tracing down to the extended family. This mentality sucks!
My opinion on the mother used for surrogacy:
Since surrogacy is legal, I think a more strict law should be put in place, especially with regard to the mother trying to force her way into the baby’s life later on or trying to claim the child all in the name of “blood is thicker than water.” Laws such as arresting and jailing the mother should be put in place. For God’s sake, what’s the essence of surrogacy in the first place, if it's not to join in producing a baby that won't be acknowledged as the child of the original mother?

Yes, any woman who is willing to take on the surrogacy task should be made to understand that any attempt to play tricks of ownership is going to warrant facing the law. It should be duly signed.
The only situation that would warrant the mother of the child having a say is when children produced through surrogacy are being used for illegal acts such as child trafficking and diabolical activities (money rituals, as it’s commonly seen in Africa), and this is totally against the law as well. In this case, the mother has a say and can go to any length to protect the child, such as reporting to the authorities, especially in a situation where it’s only the mother of the baby who is aware of the surrogacy deal and the family involved is engaged in something unlawful.
