Seeing the house project get completed...

Greetings!

There are a lot of things, I mean good things, I am looking forward to this year, and if they happen, it is going to be the best year for me, my parents, and my immediate family at large. One of the biggest of them is seeing our house project get completed.

As it has been for the past two years, every member of my family has been working towards our family house project. It is something that has taken a lot of money and is still consuming more. What prompted us to start the project is a nice reason, but building a house in this harsh economy is no joke at all.

I remember a certain time when we had to stop everything because the price of cement doubled overnight. It was so unbearable because the money used to buy two bags of cement could only buy one. After trying to deal with the high increase in cement prices during that period, we could not continue and had to pause, hoping that the price would drop. Well, it did drop, but not drastically. We agreed to continue the project gradually because if we didn’t, the price of materials would keep increasing in the months and years to come. Sometimes, I wonder where the world is heading to.

The last time I visited home was last year when the foundation had been laid to the DPC level, and that is when I took the photo above. Then, during my visit home this past Christmas, I went to the site and was welcomed with smiles. It’s our money that’s working, though. Lol.

The project has been a team effort, with finances coming from different angles, and hey, it has not been easy at all, especially with how dad calls many times to explain the things we need to buy and how the prices keep increasing daily. Although the building is standing, roofed, and plastered, it seems like the remaining work is much bigger than what has already been done. If by some miracle we get to complete it this year and move in, it is going to be the best year for my family.

We have been living in a family house, and even though there has not been any major challenge like what people face while living in a family compound, the joy of any family is to move into their own apartment. We have been living in this compound since I was a child and we have grown attached to the compound and street. As we started working on this house project, I have always imagined how we are going to cope with the new house since it is very far from our current one.

My family is such that people are always in our house. I am imagining how those people will find it easy to come around to the new house. Well, as for me, I do not have many people who usually come to visit me at home, so I will not feel it or miss hanging out at home with friends.

Thanks for reading.

Your family's determination to finish the house project despite challenges is inspiring. It's a powerful reminder of teamwork and resilience. The joy of finally moving into your own home would be a rewarding new chapter for your family. How do you plan to contribute further to completing the project?

Yeah, we are all head up, hoping to see its completion come to pass.

How do you plan to contribute further to completing the project?

In Nigeria here, we have a common answer to this which is "On God". Yes, we are trusting on God🤲

Thank you for stopping by

Building projects are multi-million endeavors. Witnessing a building being constructed from scratch to completion, one might not fully understand the volume of resources committed to it.

Congratulations on your new home!

That's it.
It'll be like a mere and normal thing but the money that's gradually getting involved is not a child's play.

Thanks bro
