Review of Emmynice1 entry | FALL by Davido

Again, welcome to my review of one of the music entries for the Vibe community contest. As usual, I took my time to go through the submissions to see if I could find any relatable song, and fortunately, once again, it was Emmynice1's entry that caught my attention. Interestingly, it’s the same guy whose entry I reviewed the last time.

He performed "FALL" by Davido, and he did it in acapella mode, which brought out a completely unfiltered tone. Lol.

First of all, "FALL" by Davido was a massive hit when it was released some years ago, and it quickly got on everyone’s lips because of its catchy and singable lyrics, as well as some relatable lines in the verses. So, I was eagerly ready to sing along with Emmynice1, but when I clicked the play button, oh, I remembered — it’s an acapella, which means no instrumental beats in the background. Honestly, I would have loved it more if the beat was included, but it’s still fine without it...maybe he should do the one with beat.

That’s how Emmynice1 started, but hey, his thick voice combined with the absence of background beats to blend it made it sound a bit too raw. However, that’s also a good thing because he used his real voice and didn’t try to fake it to sound like the original artist, Davido.

Also, the lyrics sounded a little awkward in acapella mode. And here, I’m referring to the words themselves, not the tone. With Emmynice1 singing them out loud, some of the hidden “spoiled” words became so exposed that anyone listening to the song for the first time might feel a little awkward about them. But that’s fine too — that’s what acapella does; it has the ability to bring out the lyrics in their rawest form, and Emmynice1 certainly didn’t fail to deliver on that.

Lastly, on my take, the entry only included one verse of the song. I believe it would have made a lot more sense if he had performed the full song or at least done two verses to give the performance more weight.

Overall, it’s a nice entry, and I enjoyed reviewing it.
