Plastic pollution
Greetings everyone!
I knew about plastic pollution but didn’t really understand how bad it was until I started listening to a radio program that preaches against pollution. Plastic pollution is just as bad as the most common types, such as noise and air pollution.
This pollution is basically the poor handling of these products such as dropping them anyhow and anywhere and allowing them to be washed into water bodies or into unwanted places such as farmland.
If you go to a refuse dumping site that has been abandoned for a long time, when you dig into the ground, one of the things you will find is plastic. And they’re not just there decaying—no, they’ll still be very much “alive” and undestroyed. That’s how plastics are; they don’t decay. If these plastics and nylons are washed into water bodies, fishes may swallow them, which ends up killing the fishes.
If we want our water bodies to be safe, if we want aquatic animals to be safe, we must tackle plastic pollution. I’m focusing on the effects on water bodies because that’s the most common spot for plastic pollution. Oftentimes, the plastics we drop on the ground, the plastics we fail to take to recycling centers, get carried by rainwater and flow into water bodies. The nylons then sink into the water, and fishes or other aquatic animals mistake them for food. Before we know it, this leads to their death.
This is why it is also preached that plastics should be kept for recycling. In this current era, it’s almost impossible to do without plastic because they are so common. We are encouraged to use them but not to dispose of them carelessly. Instead, we should keep them for recycling, and if one cannot manage the process of keeping them for recycling, then plastics and nylons should be properly burnt.
Thanks for reading!
Plastic pollution is a thing no one talks about.
If everyone can cooperate and dispose of this plastic properly, it will definitely help reduce dirt on the streets.
Indeed plastics and leathers should be deposited in a safe place. They hardly decay. If government can provide a safe dumping site where there burn weekly, it will help a lot in combating pollution
