People that don't add sugar to their coffee feel like doctors

Greetings!

The coffee I know is bitter in taste, and for me to enjoy it, I usually add a sugar cube or, if I don't have sugar or don't want to add sugar, I look for milk or tea that has a sugary taste to balance it out. That's what I think every average person should do, but no, there are a lot of people who like its bitter taste or even add more bitter substances to make it even more bitter.

People who drink coffee just like that give me the impression of being health-oriented individuals who know all the health benefits of everything they consume. These are the people who make it seem like adding sugar to a cup of coffee is suicidal, bringing up the sugar and diabetes talk. If you haven't met anyone like this with such sermons, count yourself lucky.

One of my uncles who lived in one of the big cities in the southern part of Nigeria, though he's late now, Whenever he visited, my siblings and I would usually prepare his breakfast, which would be either tea or coffee depending on what he wanted that day. One of the things I hated was continuously hearing lectures on how bad it is to add sugar to coffee and the damage it does to one's health. He would say this whenever he noticed the awkward look I gave him while he was sipping his cup of coffee, behaving as if it was sweet, which I thought and believed he was pretending. Lol

The same thing goes for people who drink beer, especially the very bitter kind. These people, when enjoying the bitter taste, feel like they know more than the best doctors on earth because they believe that bitterness is good for the soul and sweetness damages the body.

I know that excess sugar is bad for the body, but come on, these people should stop making those of us who add sugar to our coffee feel like we are committing suicide.
I know the people in this category reading this right now would want to finish reading quickly so they could drop a 500-word comment to hit me hard with a sermon on how bitter is better.😅

I used to think that only the elderly avoided adding sugar to coffee because they wanted to avoid diabetes, but no. If you meet a young person doing this, it's even worse because they have probably read many articles on how sugar is damaging to the body and always appear to fight against it at any slight opportunity. I have a friend in this blockchain, a lady younger than I am, and we were on a video call one day when I was spooning coffee into my mouth. When she saw the cube of sugar I hadn't finished on the table, all hell broke loose with comments like, "Are you not afraid of diabetes? Why should a young guy be adding sugar to coffee?"

When I got tired of how she made me feel bad, I had to stylishly end the call before she made me feel like I already had diabetes just because I took sugar with my coffee.

Okay, you can go ahead to drop your comments on how adding sugar to coffee is not healthy 😂

Thanks for reading.

Doctors are good. It's the people acting like doctors, they're the ones giving me the reasons to talk 😂

I love the injected humour in your post. It's a lovely tone for the prompt and you did an excellent job in conveying your points.
A wonderful and comical read 👏
