Oh yeah, I take vaccines
Greetings everyone!
I'm among those who believe strongly in the importance and relevance of vaccination. I don't joke with it at all because I believe—just as I was told through seminars in school and lectures during health education in my early days—that vaccines are very important in one's life. They help keep the body away from diseases that are present in the environment. In other words, vaccines help to immunize the body system against those diseases.
It may interest you to know that the few injections I have taken in my stay on this earth—99% of them were during immunization—were because I fear anything that has to do with injections to the core. I always prefer medicines to injections. But anytime it comes to immunization that involves injections, I man up and bear the pain because I don’t want to face whatever disease is being fought against during that period.
But the case was different during the COVID-19 season because, hey, there was a lot of false news about the virus and the vaccines. I couldn’t just stand being used as an experiment, as many people tagged it. In fact, back then in my village, no one agreed to go for it. Even when I wanted to appear very literate and go for it—because I believed so much in vaccines—mehn, the disturbing speculations just didn’t allow me. You want to know about the speculations concerning the COVID-19 vaccines? Well, I’m sure you once heard that the vaccines were not real vaccines per se, but drugs meant to kill and reduce the population of some regions in Nigeria? Lol😅 To make it worse, there were people who took the vaccines and became severely sick. Omg!
Up till today, that's one major immunization I heard about but was too scared to take the vaccine.
Back then, there were speculations that people would not be able to embark on any journey without getting vaccinated, and I laughed, because at the time, I wasn’t in any situation to travel to another state or make a far-distance journey that would require me to present my COVID-19 vaccination card.
I once got involved in an immunization programme.
During my NYSC days, some of us were assigned by the health body of the state to coordinate an immunization programme. I can’t perfectly recall the exact vaccine, but we were educated very well on the vaccine, how many doses and drops to administer, and the specified age group of children it was meant for. We weren’t the ones to do the medical work—ours was just to keep records.
You needed to see how excited the parents were, bringing their children to take the vaccines. The health workers were moving from house to house, but these parents didn’t want their children to miss out, so they brought them to the medical facility to be vaccinated. I wasn’t surprised because that was the mindset my parents had when we were infants. They would force us out to take vaccines, even those that made use of injections. They didn’t want their children to be infected with any disease.

COVID-19 vaccine effects really speculated fear in people
Asweeeaar!
Thank God we were not forced to take it as the end.
Did the COVID-19 even existed to the tone we heard in news? Lol😅
You have rightly said it. Vaccines are good but for you to say that you reluctant to take Covid-19 vaccine even when you have been in the game yourself is really hilarious 😂😂
Lol😅
Maybe we would have taken if the COVID-19 thing existed to this day.
But last last, we saw reasons to doubt all the news about COVID-19 in Nigeria
😂😂😂
Since when I felt ignorance of vaccine since then I don't joke with it at all any sickness that have vaccine and am sure is government approved I do it with immediate effect thank you for sharing
It seems we both have something in common when it comes to our fear for injections. Apart from the COVID-19 pandemic, there was another virus that erupted from the situation which was called infodemic. This has to do with the rate at which people disseminate false information about the virus and vaccine out of fear or to push an agenda.
