No To Killing

Many times, I hear stories about people harming or killing each other through different means and that baffles me a lot. How do people find it so easy to take away someone’s life? I hear things like family members fighting and, due to hatred and all that, one of them ends up poisoning the other to kill them. There are also stories of mere killings by strangling, stabbing with a knife, or shooting with a gun. How do people do that? Is their heart not of the human type? Don’t they have this as a core value they hold onto in their world, country, community, or family???

I don’t know about others, but when it comes to the act of wickedness that leads to the point of taking someone’s life, I can never do that no matter what, and I strongly hope that I don’t get into a situation where I will have to do such a thing, because most people say that it is critical conditions that push them into such acts.

I read something yesterday on social media about a lady who was seeking advice on how to escape a condition she found herself in. She said she once begged a clergyman to assist her financially to enroll for an exam. The clergyman agreed but only did so in exchange for having fun with her, and he has been doing that ever since. She’s tired and wants to stop it. A comment, in the form of advice, struck me. The user said that the clergyman might kill her if she doesn’t handle the situation carefully because if the lady exposes him, it would bring a whole load of shame and surely end the clergyman’s career. And that’s the truth, because these days, people can kill just to cover up a lie. This makes me wonder if the commandment “do not kill” has left the values of humans. Maybe it has. Maybe it’s no longer considered a sin as we were taught in Christian religious sermons.

Although killing is a crime in almost every part of the world, with the way things look now, even with “No killing” as a core value in our individual countries, it’s beginning to look as if the law guiding it has been written off.

If everyone on this planet adhered to this lifestyle, the world would be 100 times better than what it is now.
