My Old school Apps for unwinding
Greetings!
For someone who's always battling with how fast time is running and wishing the day had more than 24 hours, say 33 hours, I still find time to unwind with some activities on Softwares I find pleasurable.
To a lot of people, reading, especially in this Blockchain is an unwinding method, but for me, it's a no-no. I'm not into reading unless I absolutely have to. I've been reading since primary school and I'm still reading today.
Enough of that, let me share some apps I use to unwind.
Music App:
I'm old school when it comes to music. I love to play music a lot and I'm not into popular music apps like Spotify and others. I use the music app on my phone, where I download music and play it all the time. I mean, I don't do streaming sort, I prefer to download, line them up on my playlist and play anytime I like.
FM App:
Oh yeah, call me old school again, I love to listen to FM always. If I'm not playing music from my app or watching movies, my FM app is always on as I listen to different music and programs.
It's funny how people now classify listening to FM as a thrash. That thing keeps me very active and refreshed.
Facebook Lite:
I don't know how I became so engrossed with Facebook. I wasn't like this some time ago. This app is the one that consumes most of my time when I'm not reading here or working. I don't chat on the app because there are a lot of messages that would take me an eternity to respond to, and I can't maintain the conversation.
What do I do there?
I use the app mainly to get updates on what's happening around because I don't visit news sites for information. The pages I follow on Facebook are very prompt with updates on what's happening in Nigeria and the world at large. The most interesting part of getting a glance at the news is reading the comments. Most of the time, the comments are more interesting than the subject itself. Lol.
I'm a big fan of sports and follow many sports bodies, and Facebook gives me the quickest updates on what's happening in the sports world. Currently, the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup are ongoing, and Facebook is my go-to source for updates.
Also, I use Facebook to watch football matches. Oh yeah, Facebook has been my place to watch live matches, especially those that are allowed to be televised on Facebook. The upcoming World Cup qualifiers are mostly televised on Facebook via different licensed pages.
Additionally, I follow some skit makers that I'm very attached to. I get their clips there and watch them easily without going through YouTube.
MX Video Player:
I've never been a fan of watching movies on streaming sites such as Netflix and others. I prefer to download and watch at my convenience, and MX Player is my number one app for watching.
Why don't I like streaming? I find it inconvenient to do a data subscription, then the site subscription, and still fight a bad network to watch the movie.
I've been watching The Walking Dead for the past three months, and if this app were a human, it would have been crying by now. This app is so good; it has a lot of features such as 'night watch mode' and online subtitles.
Thanks for reading.
