Most iconic soundtrack // TWD Soundtrack
Greetings, music lovers!
For so many years, I have been using Pilgrim by Enya as my ringtone, and ever since then, it has never crossed my mind that I would ever change it to another. It has become my signature ringtone to the extent that my siblings have also become attached to the beautiful, melancholic song. But last week, I had a thought when I reminisced about the most iconic movie soundtrack I have ever loved—from the TV show The Walking Dead. I reflected on it and concluded that if I ever had to change my ringtone from what it currently is, it would definitely be this particular soundtrack from The Walking Dead.
We all agree that there are some songs that are not common, especially within your environment, but you love them so much that you want them to remain that way so they don’t become very common and get excessively played. When songs become overly common, they sometimes lose the special vibe they had when they were less known. Yeah, I have a lot of songs in this category, and I play them often, even at a loud volume, even when people around me don’t find the songs interesting. Music should always be based on personal preference.
Why am I saying all this?
This soundtrack, though very popular among fans of the TV show, is not popular in my part of the world—or at least among the people I know—because most of them got tired of the seemingly endless TV show that started in 2010 and is still ongoing. I love the fact that it’s not so popular among the people I know, and if I start using it as my ringtone, it will only catch the attention of the few who are familiar with the sound.
What’s special about this soundtrack:
I’m sure it’s not the coolest soundtrack in a movie, as I’ve heard people talk about others they love more. My love for this one stems from my deep affection for the TV show. Every time the sound plays, it brings flashes of some of the characters to my mind, as well as scenes that were—and still are—my favourites, which I often rewatch.
The soundtrack doesn’t have any lyrics; it’s just a well-coordinated and twisted instrumental that perfectly suits the mood of the show. It’s not a danceable tune; it’s simply an intro for the series, and it’s incredibly tingling to the ear—especially for those who love the show.
Normally, I’m among those who fast-forward through scenes where the credits—such as actors, producers, and marketers—are displayed, but not with this one. Because of the soundtrack, I let it play without skipping, just so I can hear that sound.
I know most of you reading this may not be familiar enough with the soundtrack to appreciate it, and that’s very understandable too.😏😏
Thanks for reading.
