Man's purpose on Earth

In response to this writing prompt which is centred on THE PURPOSE OF OUR EXISTENCE ON EARTH, I want to be very realistic.

What is a man's purpose in life?

Whenever you ask someone this question, they quickly answer, "Man's purpose in life is the will of the Creator, which a man is supposed to fulfil in life." It sounds simple, doesn't it?

Okay, fine. When you ask further, like wanting to know how a man gets to know his purpose on earth, this is where the problem comes in and makes it very complicated because, as funny as it may sound, there are wealthy people who are still searching for their purpose in life. Do you get that? As wealthy as they are, they've employed everything they could, and yet, they are still unable to identify their purpose in life. Isn't that strange?

To me, yes, a man has a purpose in life, but if he can't identify that, it shouldn't prevent him from living the normal lifestyle of chasing ambitions (dreams), making a family, dying, and leaving the earth.
These days, a good number of people no longer care about their purpose on earth as long as they have goals they are chasing—especially with the fact that life is full of struggles. These days, to a good extent, it's only the religious or wealthy ones that have time to look for their purpose in life. This is why we see a very wealthy man who has everything he can think of, sell off everything and become poor again in order to fulfil his purpose in life—by feeding the poor or housing the shelterless—because that's what he thinks is his purpose in life.

Let's be realistic here, have you ever seen a poor man give out everything in order to fulfil purpose? The only people I have seen in this category are the religious ones, as seen majorly in Africa.

A lot of us believe, due to what we've been taught in sermons, that one can only get to know their purpose in life through the religious, spiritual way. And this doesn't occur easily because one must fast for long days and engage in endless prayer to attain that. This sounds simple, but it's the hardest task because if it's done casually, one might end up wasting 40 days of fasting and prayer for nothing.

Oftentimes also, religious houses have made us believe that our core purpose in life is to please the Creator on earth. While I believe this to an extent, I also know that the 'pleasing' doesn't mean one must become a reverend, pastor, bishop, or hold any other position. No, one can actually be a bank staff member and still please the Lord.

Lest I forget, some people say their purpose in life is to do what they're happy doing. While there may be a jot of truth in this, it's also not accurate because most times, those acts we do are mere ambitions—especially when we earn money from them. Yeah, that's taking ambition for purpose in life.

While some may also say that their purpose in life is to put their gifts or talent to work—okay, do you have a talent? Remember that it's said that everyone created has a gift. Have you identified yours? A "yes", right? And you're using it to dupe people because of "work-chop", right? 😂

Omo! The topic of man's purpose in life cannot be overemphasized.

Thanks for reading.

Hehhe, such a tough one hear bro, but it's fact. This purpose thing is a broad topic and everyone has their opinion. I don't disagree with those who believe that their purpose is to serve their maker, it is part of it, but if serving the market is all you do and you are not making impacts on the lives of others then I think something is missing.

It is beyond religious beliefs, and pleasing the creator is more like an automatic obligation. Purpose is found in what one does to promote humanity, the impacts we make on the lives of others depending on what we are capable of... Just my opinion though.

Hahahah!
The point of serving the maker and not making impact....my thought went to the modern clergymen we have, all they do is taxing their members. 😂

Mehn, this topic is broad, just as you said it💯
