JAAT [2025]: Brutality as its peak
I saw this movie’s short clip on Facebook, and it got me glued, so I quickly added it to my to-watch list. The effects in the clip, especially the added slow motions, were just too amazing, and when I finally watched it, I felt fulfilled.

Jaat is an action/thriller Bollywood movie released in 2025. A movie that revolves around fighting against crime and corruption.
The movie started with a scene where some slaves were taken to the forest by soldiers for work. While the slaves were excavating the earth, they found a box containing gold buried in the ground, and that’s when a fight broke out between them, and the slaves ran away with the gold. Did they succeed? Yes, they did, after slaughtering countless numbers of soldiers. The slaves ran into an unknown community, bribed the government officials, and bought citizenship with some pieces of gold. Their leader, Ranatunga, decided to take over the territory by instilling fear in the villages with his brutal and merciless killings. These parts are too gory to the extent that graphics were used to blur out some deep sensitive spots, and I love the goriness.
When the news of Ranatunga got to the president of the country, she sent in some police officers, including men and women, to handle the situation. But along the line, the men in the police team backed out because they feared Ranatunga, while the women among them proceeded and were beaten, some killed, and all of them räped.

Then comes Brig. Baldev Pratap Singh, the main man, who was sent to the land to remedy the situation. But along the way, during his journey, he stopped by a roadside restaurant to have a meal, and that’s where he stumbled upon Ranatunga’s boys, who marched on his meal and refused to apologize — and that’s where the endless fight started from.
Did Brig. Baldev Pratap Singh succeed in his mission? Even though it seems very predictable, the journey was very far and brutal at both ends.
Rating and Opinions
The effects: Truthfully, the slow-motion effect is too much. There’s no fight scene where it wasn’t used, which sometimes made the scenes look as though the slow motion was interrupting the flow of the fight. But hey, I love it. As much as it was excessively done and interrupted my flow, I love it too because it made the scenes more catchy.
The storyline, especially with the thuggery and the corrupt display of what’s happening in some countries, is very interesting. Ranatunga was feared by almost everyone because anyone that dared to challenge him was slaughtered. I love the realistic storyline.
It’s a good watch. I would rate it 8/10.
