In the little years I have lived on this planet...

In the little years I have lived on this planet, I have met a lot of people who in one way or the other have touched my life and have made me keep pushing in achieving success from one level to another, but the major among them all is from my family and I will simply say, my parents.

You know, for most of us who have our parents alive and have helped us a lot, we oftentimes see their presence and help as a necessity and also feel entitled to them, but it’s not always so. Not all parents can go many and long lengths to see their children succeed.

Like I’ve said many times, there was a time I almost gave up on continuing my school due to a series of failures I was having while trying to graduate from secondary school, which without that, one cannot gain admission into the university. Each time I look back at those periods, how my parents kept enrolling me in different exams and believing that I wasn’t dull academically but that it was just luck that was far away from me, I thank God for having them as my parents.

They could have gotten angry and said they wouldn’t pay for any examination enrolment fees again, but they stayed put, they kept being supportive, and they pushed me to the last exam that I did and finally made my papers. This may look casual and simple to other people out there, they may even call it just their responsibility and all that, but to me, their steadfastness during that period of my life meant a lot to me, and that was a big motivation to strike the iron very hot when I got into the tertiary institution with my good input in academic performance.

When I got into the tertiary institution, I don’t know, I realized that paying school fees and all that, even though it’s their responsibility, is not actually theirs alone. What do I mean? I met different kinds of people in school, some of whom were training themselves by doing menial jobs in the school city to earn money, and also, some were heavily sponsored by their rich parents or guardians. But my parents, in their little capacity and struggles, were there for me all through the years in the university. Mehn! These people are my biggest inspiration!

Thanks for reading.
