Mehn, one of the biggest mysteries I have always been curious about is the afterlife, ghosts, and in general, the supernatural world.

Last week, I wrote something else to add to the many things I have written about my curiosity regarding the supernatural world. Some friends who read the post kicked against the ideas, as usual, and it keeps baffling me why people are not interested or curious to know whether what we have heard about ghosts and the afterlife is real or just a fallacy.

Do I believe in ghosts?

I will not lie, I believe strongly in the existence of ghosts, but I am not yet convinced about how they operate compared to what I have read, heard, or watched in movies. I just want to confirm practically the presence of a ghost and not the hunger-powered experiences I have had.

You know, different regions have different ideas about how ghosts operate.

Some say that ghosts are completely spiritual beings and cannot touch physical things or human bodies; they are ethereal. While others believe that ghosts have a way of operating that allows them to touch physical things, possess human bodies, and begin to live like normal humans.

A typical example of this is how we are made to believe that when a person dies untimely, maybe through an accident, the ghost of the person travels to another faraway land to continue their existence and can only be caught as a ghost by another ghost or by someone who once knew them. This belief is very common in Nollywood movies and also in real-life happenings.

An example is the story of how a ghost was caught owning a restaurant, a very busy one, and when someone who knew the person while she was alive came around, the ghost disappeared and left everyone in shock. Yeah, you must have heard of a similar case. If that case is real, it means the ghost could touch physical things because she was living like a normal human.

So which one are we supposed to believe?

There was a time I saw a ghost, and I have written about the scene many times. Everyone would say it was hunger that caused it, but I still stand my ground that it was a ghost I saw.

I even know how to see a ghost, especially the method of going to the market at midnight and viewing the area while bending down. But I do not want to see a ghost through that means; I do not want to be slapped. I want to meet a calm ghost 😅.
