Friday night: Food and matket
Time was already 7:00 p.m., and I was still at the workplace, forcing myself to round up for the day. The day had already gone deeply dark, most shops had closed, and I was the last person left in my area. While rushing to close, hunger was dealing with my stomach, and my brain was busy calculating how to get food to eat tonight — whether to go for cooked food since I had none at home or to prepare something myself.
Both options had their good and bad sides. Buying cooked food to quickly quench the hunger sounded fine, but when it came to tomorrow, I would be faced with the issue of sorting out what to eat again. Preparing a new meal sounded like the best idea, but I was deeply hungry, and cooking would take me long to get it done. As I was thinking, I remembered that I’m not actually the type who spends long hours cooking like most ladies do.
As I closed from work, I quickly went to the market close to my street to get some food items. It was late already, but I was lucky to meet some of the women still selling. I bought the food items and entered the shower of rain, rushing home with speed.

I got home, pulled off my clothes, and remained in just a short. Then I entered the kitchen to perform my magic. I think I should call it a skill — I don’t waste time cooking, and it’s not like the food wouldn’t be okay. Unlike my immediate younger brother, whenever he wants to cook and I’m hungry, I would just go for snacks because it would take him hours to be through.
I was done with the cooking within the space of 30 minutes. Hey, it was soup that I prepared, so it’s not like I made noodles or a similar kind of quick food. I ate the food; it was so delicious that I clapped for myself for making the decision to cook instead of buying a cooked meal.
