Food, drink, drunk and dance
Greetings,
Time was 2:30 pm on the dot when I remembered that I had to attend a traditional marriage ceremony to which I was invited by our street neighbor. I was feeling tired and sleepy and didn't feel like attending, but not attending would send the wrong message to my inviter. I didn't want that because I would be termed a bad person.
I got up, dressed in simple native attire, boarded a bike, and set off for the venue. The address was a bit confusing, so I had to give the biker the invitation card to check. After he looked at it, he was confused as well, but he agreed to go because as long as it was a party, once we got to the major junction, we could either ask people or listen for the sound of music.
We got to junction, picked the direction of the music, and landed at the venue of the party. It was already 3:00 pm, and they had not yet started. I hate being kept waiting, but in this case, I couldn't vent my anger or go back because it would be a waste of transportation fare.
I sat down in front of an empty table under an empty canopy. Within a short while, drinks and kola nuts were placed on the table, and not long after, other women I knew joined me, making it fun.
The party started, the DJ was playing good music, and people were dancing. A man below caught my attention; his dancing vibes were so sweet that I didn't fail to get some clips of him. He was holding a bottle of alcohol, which he was sipping while dancing, and I'm sure the alcohol was activating him. Lol.
As the venue started to fill up, we were asked to leave the canopy because the rightful owners had arrived. I hated it, but after a thorough explanation, we left and settled under another canopy. There was no table, so we used an empty crate of drinks to form a table as you can see below.
We were served food in a takeaway pack, and we used nylon to wrap it to take it home because we were not ready to eat in that environment.
When the couple danced out, we went to spray money as they danced. Oh, we didn't spray it on their bodies; we only sprayed it in the bowl kept on the floor in front of them. Spraying Nigerian currency is currently against the law, so we only dropped it in the bowl instead of splashing it in the air or on the celebrants' bodies.
I sprayed the little I could, and when the time got to 4:45 pm, I carried my food and left for my house on a bike. When I got home, I sat down in my chair and ate my food, and I felt good.
The Sunday was fun-filled, wasn't it?
Over here in my current place of residence, I don't get to yo attention parties often and that's because I don't attend uninvited events.
Thanks for reading.
