Coffee with a 'no sugar' friend

Greetings!

I smiled upon seeing this prompt because most of my friends around me are not coffee-oriented, and I've tried initiating them into it several times, but these people prefer the 'sweety' tea or soft drinks. Just like I mentioned in some of my articles on coffee, my dad is my number one person when it comes to coffee. In fact, he's the one who introduced me to it. Anytime I travel home, I make sure to keep his own sachet when he's not around because he'd find out from those little girls in my house that I made coffee that day, especially when they didn't get any because it's not as sweet as their tea. But whenever he's around, I make sure to make two cups and sip together with him in the parlour. The other siblings of mine who take coffee have moved to school, so I don't get to have them around except during the Christmas season when everyone travels home.

Apart from my dad, I have just one other person in my place of residence with whom I have coffee. This person is a lady, and she frowns greatly at sugary things, which is why she prefers coffee to the usual drinks people take.

"But come on, this sachet of Nescafé has sugar, can't you see it?" I would tease her.

"I know, but it has less than those soft drinks or tea, and the bitter taste has it for me," she would say, trying to justify her reasons.

Although I don't get to have this lady around often to have coffee, anytime she visits, she doesn't allow soft drinks; it must be coffee or nothing else. And hey, she takes her coffee with just milk, while I pour sugar into mine, blocking my ears to her "sugar is not good" sermons.

Coffee spots are not common here. The one I knew stopped doing coffee, It's an eatery that was brewing coffee but stopped putting coffee on their menu because of low patronage. So we usually have this coffee at home while we chat and laugh, and trust me, I always silence any topic about adding sugar to coffee.

I don't buy this coffee and keep it in my house often either. There's a shop close to my house that's always open where I go to get a sachet of coffee anytime I want to have it or anytime she's around. Yeah, I find it very hard to buy things in bulk.
This type is very easy to make; just add warm water to it in a cup, and it's ready to drink.

I really wish to have more people like her, people who would prefer that low-budget drink to the high-priced alcohol or soft drinks. Oh, in case I haven't mentioned it here, one of the main reasons I love having this person around is that her taste is cheap. I don't spend much, just a sachet of coffee and a sachet of tea, and I'm good to go.

Thanks for reading.

This is my response to #spillthebeans prompt.

I understand you about sugar and coffee, but let me tell you that in excess it is harmful. I suffer from blood pressure and the excess sugar in my coffee has hurt me because I drink it very sweet, so it has lowered the amount of sugar in my coffee a bit.

Thank you for this!
I know its effect and I've adjusted the intake a lot.
Just that I can't take coffee raw like that, I still drop a little on it. Lol😅

Sugar is bad for our health and there are people who suffer from diseases caused by sugar and so they get used to drinking drinks with nothing and even coffee, something that for me is not good at all, I have tried it and its taste is bad. No doubt it remains to continue and great that you enjoyed it.

Yes bro.
I really understand.
I know the negative effect of excess sugar in our body. I'm trying to reduce its intake. Yeah, I'm trying.
Thank you bro
