Bizzy body

Greetings, music lovers!

One thing about me is that I can go on a music writing streak for a month and I won't get tired because it's something I love and something I listen to every day.

Thinking about which music to write about this morning in response to a prompt, I decided to take a gamble: open my music playlist, close my eyes, and whichever song my hand taps, that's the one.
So, I did just that, and my hand landed on "BIZZY BODY (Rmx)."

Let me tell you about this particular track (Remix) from its original version.

BIZZY BODY (original)

This was a hit song from the "GET SQUARED" album of P-SQUARE, very talented twins who rocked the music industry back then. They were the first set of twins I saw that were into music and made waves to the extent that every music-loving African knows them to this day.

The track "BIZZY BODY" was released 18 years ago (2005), and to this day, if one wants to reference good old songs, this song can't be missed. The unique beat and the rich lyrics are so typical of Afrobeat music, and it still evokes the same old vibe when played.

If you watch the music video closely, you'll see that these people had baby faces compared to who they are today. Those were their days of climbing up, and that album, especially the "BIZZY BODY" track, helped in propelling them to fame.
The female voice in the song, though not announced as part of the vocals, was the voice of Waje. Her part melted and blended with the vibes.

BIZZY BODY (Remixes)

After the first album, a second album was released, and it was entirely a remix album with videos, which they captioned "Tempted to Watch."

To be honest, I loved this album so much because of the videos and the vibes it carried. It's in that album that the video of "Temptation" was released.
In this album, a remix of "BIZZY BODY" was done, and it has two versions. Yeah, it's two remixes.

This "BIZZY BODY" Remix, every time I hear it, brings back a lot of memories of how we danced to it and shook the neighborhood playing it on loudspeakers.
The fast beat of the remix has a way of shaking the room when played on a good sound system at a loud volume. It's my favorite on that album, and I love to put it on repeat when we were using a VCD player, which my younger female siblings used to frown at me for, even though they later fell in love with it.

The second remix was the same as the first, but this one has a spice up by an artist called Weird MC. A lady who dresses like a man... that "Ijoya" woman.

After many years of winning hearts in the music industry, tragedy struck them (P-Square), and they went their separate ways with a lot of beef. It was painful to our hearts because they really made us love African music.

Their beef lasted for many years, but miraculously, they got back together three years ago, and guess what? They decided to go on a 100-world tour with their old songs, and hey, watching them perform all these songs, especially "BIZZY BODY," is a joy to behold.

Have a feel of this performance after their reconciliation
