Biggest sport event in Africa is coming
Greetings everyone!π

I'm a very noisy sports person when it comes to sports involving national teams such as FIFA (male and female in all levels), AFCON( in all levels), WAFCON (in all levels), and the Olympics. I'm very different when it comes to interest in sports because I don't do the popular league matches like the Premier League, La Liga, Budensliga, etc. It's not like I don't watch matches from those; I do very well, but I don't take it to heart like the way many people do, especially the Chelsea fans.
Each year, I always look forward to experiencing the fun in any of these tournaments. We have two tournaments coming up this year: AFCON and OLYMPICS; however, it's AFCON that I've most anticipated.
In case you don't know, AFCON stands for "AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS," and it comes every two years. This is the biggest sports festival in Africa, as it brings every one of us together.
I'm a big fan of the Super Eagles (Nigeria senior football team). I've been following up with every one of them in their various clubs, giving accolades to their classiness in their various club sides, and it's always a joy to see them come back home and put smiles on our faces. Although it hasn't been on a good for some years now because we've not been getting the winning vibes. It's going to be fine.
This upcoming tournament, coming up in a few days, promises to be exciting. The whole of Africa is buzzing already, anticipating the showdown. The qualified teams are in their various camps now, training to hit the show very hard, and we, the fans, are applauding every bit of their moves on social media.
You that's reading this, you must have heard about the upcoming AFCON if you've been active on mediaβοΈ.
Just yesterday, news was circulated about the 40% increase in the grand prize, and this has, in one way, made up more sparks and jubilation across the continent.
This tournament, AFCON 2023, was supposed to have taken place last year, but due to the COVID-19 that tempered the show of last tournament, it was extended to 2024. Hence the tag (#Afcon2023) in 2024.
It'll be happening in Cote d'Ivoire, and 24 countries will be slugging it out. They're as follows:
Cote d'Ivoire, Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau,
Egypt, Ghana, Cape Verde, Mozambique,
Senegal, Cameroun, Guinea, The Gambia,
Algeria, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Angola,
Tunisia, Mali, South Africa, Namibia,
Morocco, Dr. Congo, Zambia, and Tanzania.
It's a tournament I love so much, and I've been preparing, gathering all the resources (funds and strength) to have the best of the moment during the tournament.
To be sincere, if I had the opportunity to travel to Cote d'Ivoire to feel it live, I would jump on that opportunity without thinking twice.
As it is currently, I'll be streaming every bit of the matches on my phone. Yes, you read it right, every bit of the matches, and that will cost me a fortune, but I don't mind because such tournaments only occur once every two years.
Also, I plan to blog every bit of it. To express my joy...I hope my country doesn't get knocked out easily, so I don't lose interest in blogging. Lolπ
It's so bad that I don't see anyone talking about this tournament.π
Thank you for reading.

I was not aware of AFCON but it's looking exciting to me that such an event happens after every two years. Good luck with it.
