Angela and the cries in the wind

Angela, a 24-year-old lady studying locksmithing at the University of Kuta, finished her second semester exam and embarked on a visit to her elder sister Clementina, who lived in another city to spend her holidays. Upon her arrival, she was astounded by the opulence that surrounded her sister's household. A magnificent mansion with a fleet of cars parked in the compound spoke volumes about the family's wealth.
"Sister! Don't tell me you've been living this large and still sending me pennies" Angela jiggled out like a baby.

"I can see that you're very ungrateful; don't you know how much I send to you every month?" Clementina playfully dragged her in the earlobe as they walked inside the house with laughter.

Clementina's husband has been away for a business trip, so it's the two of them alone in the big mansion.

However, Angela's stay took a sinister turn as she was haunted by the persistent cry of babies in the night air. The haunting cries left her baffled and disturbed.

On the first night, Angela couldn't discern the source of the cries, so she decided to keep her unease to herself, wanting to confirm the eerie occurrence.

The following night, at around 7:30 p.m., the cries returned, seemingly emanating from outside her window. Bravely, she tiptoed to the window, opened the cotton, and nothing was there. She ventured out, hoping to find the source, but found nothing tangible, only the unsettling cries lingering in the wind.

Frightened and perplexed, Angela sought solace in her sister's room. Her sister, Clementina, who had scarcely slept, got up as soon as she heard a knock on her door.
"Angela, is that you? Please come inside."

Angela walked him with her arms cross-folded in her chest, fidgeting and looking at every corner of the room.

"Angela!" Clementina got scared upon seeing the state of her sister, she got up from the bed and rushed to cuddle her.
"What's happening to you? You had a dream?" She asked in a speed of light, and Angela remained silent for a while before she opened her mouth.
"Sis, you don't hear the crying babies at night? This is the second night my night has been disturbed by these cries"

"Cries? How? Where? Is it not the same house we are in? It seems you are having malaria." She placed her hand on Angela's forward to detect symptoms of malaria and cuddled her more, saying, "Don't worry, you need to sleep here till my husband returns."

You don't get it. I went outside in the compound to trace the sound, but I found nothing. There's something in the wind and..."

"Sssshhhhhh!" The sister shushed, believing her to be nothing more than the figments of an overactive imagination.

But Angela couldn't shake her suspicions. She began to draw parallels with Nollywood movies, suggesting that her brother-in-law's wealth might be ill-gotten. She concluded that he could be involved in occult rituals. Angela believed that such a man would have a hidden room where he conducted these sinister deeds.

Determined to unveil the truth, Angela waited for her sister to leave for work the next day, granting her sole access to the house. She began searching each room meticulously. After two hours of intense scrutiny, she discovered a room secured with two locks, which got her curious as to why a room has two locks.
She went back to her room, picked up some tools from her school study bag, and went back to the door.

Just as she was about to open the door, the baby's cries appeared on the wind again, despite it being daytime. Her heart raced as she used her knowledge of lock mechanisms from her school studies to open the door.

"Jesus!" What Angela found inside left her in shock. She stood at the door with her hands covering her mouth to avoid screaming. The room was adorned with various deities, native pots, red candles, and a large casket that's opened. The eerie atmosphere sent shivers down her spine. A brave lady she was, she went back to her room and got her little wifi CCTV camera. She sneaked into the room and had it pinned in the corner of the room. She smartly locked the door back.

That night, Angela remained vigilant, her eyes fixed on her phone, waiting to witness the room's sinister secrets. To her horror, she watched as babies materialized in the room, crying and the same time laughing. She was shocked and couldn't believe her eyes on how babies appeared in the room and started to cry.

She couldn't hold it for herself; she jumped off the bed and ran straight to her sister's room. "Sis! Sis! Sis! Please open the door," she knocked on the door sporadically, and her sister quickly rushed to open the door. "Again! I told you to sleep here, but you refused." As she opened the door, she saw Angela in tears with her phone on her hands staring at it.

"What's that? "Are you sick? You're crying before a movie?" She hissed as she collected the phone from her, hugged her and began to pet her.

"No, no, no! That's not a movie; that's from one of the rooms in this house."

Clementina picked up the phone to see again, and at that moment, the crying babies were no longer there; it was just the scary decorated room. "What do you mean? How did you come about this?"

Angela's bravery returned from nowhere; she cleaned off her tears, stood boldly before her sister, and began to narrate, "I was curious about everything, especially the babies crying in the wind, and I found this room and installed a CCTV."

"Hahahaha! Ever since you came, you've been acting strange; are you sure that your school has not bewitched you?" She threw the phone on the bed and hissed, "so, there's something like this in my house, and I don't know?" She laughed again.

"If you're brave enough, come let me go and show you." Angela walked to the door and opened it to let her sister demonstrate her bravery by walking through the door.

"Hmmmmm, you're pulling up too much; let's go." She succumbed to the test and walked to the door while Angela led the way to the room. They got there, Angela opened to the door with just a fickle, and on the spot, Clementina slumped off.

"Musa Musa Musa!" Angela, with tears and fears, screamed the gateman's name to help out, but the house swallowed her voice.
Just when she was about to rush off to the kitchen to get water, her sister was conscious again. She pulled her up and struggled to make their way inside the room.

After Clementina regained her strength fully, she called her husband and reported that he needed to return home as early as tomorrow's morning for an emergency issue.
"What emergency...,? The call ended while the husband was trying to figure out what the problem was. He tried to return the call, but Clementina and Angela's phones were off.

The next day, as early as 8:00 a.m., the husband returned to find policemen surrounding his compound. He was apprehended without explanation, despite his shouts demanding a reason.

Under pressure, he confessed that his wealth was derived from the misery of childlessness he had imposed on his wife. The marriage came to a catastrophic end, and he was subsequently imprisoned for his heinous actions.

Angela's bravery and determination brought an end to a dark secret and providing justice to her sister Clementina.

A story that gives chills, Witchcraft is something that causes a lot of fear because of that dark and evil tendency that surrounds it, in the end the girl was brave and put an end to all that. Entertaining story that you share with us.

Thanks for sharing.
Good day.
