24hrs before Zombie invasion

As someone who is deeply into zombie-apocalypse movies, I would love to assume in this prompt that a zombie apocalypse is coming and I need to get prepared with the last 24 hours before the world goes down.

So, I have seen a lot of these movies and TV series — The Walking Dead, Kingdom, Apocalypse Z, and many more — and one of the biggest challenges was not even fighting zombies but surviving and fighting people. What do I mean? Read on.

The things I'll do within the last 24 hours are as follows:

Go for supplies: I know that there is no amount of food I can store in my house that will last me for a very long year, but I will go scavenging for food and fill my pantry and kitchen with enough provisions to last my family and me for many months or even years, as the case may be. I will go very early to find the best supplies, because I know other people will rake the supermarkets and warehouses clean. Not just food — I’ll also get enough solar panels and batteries that I can install in my house to sustain electricity; that will help keep the food from spoiling and keep my gadgets, such as phones, fully charged. Not only that, I’ll collect seeds, cuttings, tubers, and plants that I can grow at home so that, if food items run out, I can cultivate my own and won’t need to go outside to face the danger. Lest I forget, I’ll pick up medical supplies as well — medicines for fever and other common illnesses, plus basic first-aid supplies.

Make my compound impenetrable: If you’ve seen The Walking Dead, you’ll notice how people raise the fences around their compounds to prevent the walkers from getting in. I just hope we’ll have the kind of zombies from The Walking Dead and not the aggressive kind that climb fences with ease. I’ll raise the fence around my compound very high and place piercing objects and other barriers on top of it to deter or injure anything that tries to climb over, in case they attempt it.

Get equipped with ammunition: A cutlass, swords, guns of different types, bows and arrows, bullets, and many other weapons will be stored in my house. These weapons will be there in case zombies invade or other people try to attack to take over my compound, as we’ve seen so often in movies. I will fight mercilessly to protect my house, because once it’s gone, I will be finished as well.
