WAFCON 2024: Standings After Group Stage

Greetings sports lovers! I trust you're having a nice time.

The group stages of the ongoing WAFCON 2024 tournament ended in a dramatic way. Although most of the nations expected to qualify did so easily, others struggled, and some had to rely on the best third-place finishers in the groups to advance.

Group A

Morocco, the host nation, ended the group stage as the top of the group with 7 points. Zambia followed closely as second, also with 7 points. Senegal came out third with 3 points, while DR Congo finished at the bottom with no point at all. What a poor tournament DR Congo has had! All the teams beat them blue and black.

Group B

Group B ended with Nigeria topping the group with 7 points. Their last game against Algeria was a goalless draw. Algeria followed in second place with 5 points. Botswana finished third with 3 points, while Tunisia came last with just 1 point.

Group C

South Africa, the defending champions, topped the group with 7 points. They ran riot over the Tanzanian ladies in their last game, scoring 4 goals. Second place was taken by Ghana. Luck was truly on their side because if they had lost that game, it would have seen them return home. Mali came out third with 4 points, the same as Ghana. Tanzania finished at the bottom of the group with just 1 point.

Now, the most interesting and anticipated stage is fixed, and we can't wait to have a feel of the quarter-finals, with the 8 teams remaining, which are as follows:
