In my previous post on the preview of the semi-final matches between Nigeria vs South Africa and Morocco vs Ghana, I did say that I was a bit scared of my team losing because the odds were very high.

The matches were played: Nigeria beat South Africa and Morocco beat Ghana.

The first match, Nigeria vs South Africa, was very fiery. Nigeria had the better part of the first half in terms of dominance, chance creation, and shots too. Towards the end of the first half, Nigeria was awarded a penalty, and it was converted very well by Ajibade. It stayed like that till the end of the first half.

In the second half, the South Africans came out to attack with full force because they were losing. They got awarded a penalty too, and they scored it to bring the game to a draw level.

The match continued, and towards the end of the game—in fact, it was just 2 minutes to go—Alozie pulled a long-range shot from the center, and the South African keeper saw the landing as a joke. And that was it, it was a goal. The game ended 2 goals to 1 in favour of Nigeria. Nigeria has qualified for the final match.

The game between Morocco and Ghana was an interesting one too. The Ghanaians scored first, and it made the Moroccans very restless and relentless. They pushed too hard and got an equaliser.

The match ended 1:1 and headed into extra time. The extra time finished with the same scoreline, and it headed to a penalty shootout where Morocco won with 4 goals to 2. They qualified for the final to play Nigeria.

Let me tell you, It's going to be a revengeful match by Nigerians in the final because in the previous tournament during the semi-final, Nigeria and Morocco met and the game was heavily favoured by the Moroccans because two Nigerian players were red-carded in the game, and there were a lot of fouls committed by the Moroccans that the officials overlooked.

The final match is coming up this Saturday by 8 p.m.
