OLD DAYS ARE REAL

Faces tell stories, sometimes louder than words. This drawing, titled “Old Days Are Real,” is my attempt to capture the weight of memory and experience through portraiture.
The man’s face is not about beauty but about truth. The sharp lines and exaggerated features emphasize wrinkles, tired eyes, and the heaviness of time. Every mark on his face is a reminder that the past never leaves us, it lives with us.
While drawing, I thought about how our elders carry not only their personal memories but also cultural and generational histories. Their expressions are like libraries, if we look closely enough, we can read them.
This artwork is not just about age, but about life itself. It reminds me that every wrinkle, every scar, every tired look is proof that someone has lived, endured, and survived.
Art, in this sense, becomes a mirror for human resilience, just like my beetle drawing showed resilience in nature, this portrait shows resilience in humanity.
