SOCIAL MEDIA CHALLENGE: WIN SOME, LOSE MORE.

I haven't written a splinterlands post in over a month now because I needed to finally fully the promise I made to myself about renting cards, well I'm happy to say I finally learned how to rent cards but the experience was way different than I imagined. I thought once I rented some cards I would start winning and things would go a lot smoother. Well I guess y’all pros are reading and laughing at me right now if any of you gets to read this. Although a lot has changed if I should be truthful. At first I was fed up and decided to take a break to see what I was doing and probably understand the game a little better. But the truth was that I was discouraged when things didn't go as I planned.

The beginning of this week was the Muslim holidays which gave me the opportunity to learn a lot of things about the splinterlands game. So yeah this week I rented three new sets of cards after I took hours studying all my previous losses and each strategy my opponents used on me. I compared them to the top battles for the season and I noticed some similarities which prompted me to rent three cards. I was able to rent three summoners with three different elements namely fire, water and earth. For the fire element I rented TARSA summoner, for the water element, I rented KELYA FRENDUL summoner, and for the earth element, I rented the OBSIDIAN summoner.

Playing the modern league with these cards wasn't easy at first because even though I was already used to KELYA FRENDUL, I got my ass whooped 99% of the times I was playing with the cards. My first day was horrible having just three wins in more than 30 trials. I gave up eventually after my battery died and the next day I continued going with 9 wins in 35 game play. Today being the third day, I have gotten 7 wins so far in 18 game play, increasing my win rate from 10% on Tuesday, to 33% yesterday and today about 38%. Right now I don't mind losing because I'm loving every bit of it, although there are still issues I would like to see resolved but I know with time that will happen.

One major issue I'm finding difficulty in is choosing the best strategy that would at least match my opponents. I've struggled playing against those using death elements having won just one in 19 encounters. I'm still looking to find a guild and also fully understand what it is. But for now I would focus on my game play and daily strategies. For my last win which was earlier today I used the fire element which is becoming my new favorite as it has given me 65% of my wins so far. Using the fire summoner card I rented, I played with the ANTOID PLATOON in first position. This card became one of my starters because of its melee attack ability, and I noticed it functions best at the first position.

For the second position I chose LAVA SPIDER because the rule set prevented me from using cards above 4 mana so I needed to work with every resource I had at the moment. I later found out that this card came in handy and was good for targeting my opponents cards that weren't in the first position. I decided to add an ambush strategy and therefore choose the GOBALANO SOLDIER which is usually perfect for it's ambush ability and attacking before the game even starts. It also targets the last unit of my opponents cards instead of the first unit making my cards fight from three positions. The first, middle and last. In the fourth position I used KHA’ZI FIRE MAGE. I thought I would need an extra hand in my ambush strategy and thus went for this monster and like I imagined it went well.

For the fifth and last positions, I used MOXIAN REBEL and DRYBONE BOWDOG still to continue my ambush strategy and like I predicted I had my monsters releasing ambushes from all corners which got me the win. I was shocked that despite having a healing card, my opponent stood no chance because of the level of damage my cards caused plus my opponents cards were constantly missing their targets allowing me a chance to do more damage.
