So I'm finally here, feels as though seven weeks came in a flash and we just started yesterday. But as they say, nothing last forever, everything must come to an end whether good or bad. Although I wouldn't want to make this an ending post, I will prefer it to be the beginning of a whole new experience from the norms. I came into hive as a newbie, not knowing my left from right. Now I can say I have learned, not graduated but now a better student. And with this in mind, I will love to share My Journey so far...

MY JOURNEY SO FAR

My journey so wasn't really as smooth as I would have wanted to have it, I got caught up with real-world activities that reduced my internet time, I also had so much difficulty in performing some of the tasks because of my phone issues, but In all, the experience was worth it. Newbies initiative has given my hive Journey a purpose, I mean I have started investing in second-layer tokens already were before I started this program I didn't know shit about anything investment. I for one think the newbies initiative project is an amazing one, one which every newbie should strive to get admitted into.

ABOUT THE VARIOUS TASK

It's not always easy learning new things, especially when you are just getting to hear about them for the first time. For me, it was first overwhelming, as well as really stretchy... Most especially the part about always making your own thumbnail on Canva. If I was using a better device maybe I wouldn't find them so difficult. The hardest of them all was task 4 which required us to upload a video, I remember how I got frustrated trying to use my phone all week and later finally settled on borrowing a laptop after all my enthusiasm for the video had died. This was followed by the last task about Blockchain games because I couldn't get the games to work on my phone. In all, I learned from all the tasks and I know performing them again wouldn't be as difficult as they were when I attempted first.

THERE'S ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT

I think the meetings are very important, I only got to physically attend two of them because of my work schedule, however, if meetings could be recorded, It will help those who missed them physically have a better idea about the task from the question and answer sections. I discovered that I performed better at the meetings I attended than I did at the meetings I missed. I had to check out exactly what others did at a point to fully understand things I needed to do in completing my tasks.

I also think The art of writing should be taught as a topic on its own in the newbies initiative program, to enable newbies who do not know how to write quality content to improve on their writing skills, this might require building a standard template to follow for newbies, not because that template is ultimate, but because following it will help them improve in different ways.

WHAT I CAN DO FOR NEWBIES HIVE

I will also like to work with the newbies initiative program in the future, in any role/position I'm given, I could help newbies in future easily understand strategic ways to perform their tasks by taking time to further breakdown each topic as they come which makes it easier for them to understand the complex task better.

MY PERFORMANCE SO FAR...

Having set my hive goals beforehand, I will say I'm 50% there, which is really poor if I'm to be sincere. This is because I couldn't put as much effort as I wished at the beginning due to circumstances majorly beyond my control. I started with 188hp, and I'm at 256hp which is 94hp less than I set for myself. My followership currently stands at 41 instead of the 70 I set, my engagement has dropped from how it was before I started the initiative, due to real-life activities that have taken my time. However I'm still determined to accomplish these goals because like I said it doesn't end here, I might not have performed well in this program, but I know better than to let this be my fate. So I will keep setting smart goals until I'm able to hit them all.
