MY FANTASY CREATURE

Growing up, there were two cartoons I really liked, or should I say love. I would still watch them now if given the chance, although I've tried looking for one of them without any trace of how to get the movie like it never even existed. A lot of kids my age say they have never watched it which makes me wonder if I did watch it in reality 😂. Although my younger sister can remember some of it, only that she might have been with me in the fantasy world I watched. However, If I were to bring my fantasy creatures to life, I wouldn't want it to come in the form I watched it, but rather a form I only got to fantasize about as a child.

As a child, I got to watch the popular Lion King cartoon movie and the unpopular Yakari cartoon series. Simba happened to be my favorite character In the Lion King movie, while the eagle whose name I can't remember anymore was my favorite character In the Yakari series. Watching Yakari on teletoons, I often fantasize about being the eagle that was always coming to Yakari’s aid when in trouble. I can't remember a lot of things about that series, but the theme song is still fresh in my memory. For the lion King, I loved how Simba showed courage and curiosity as a cub and later grew to be more courageous as a lion when he claimed his position as king.

Back to my fantasy which was on another level, I would fantasize about a creature that looked like Simba with the winds of that exact eagle. I like to call the creature liongle. I would imagine Simba on those winds and the things he would have been able to do. Let's start with catching his father instead of watching him fall from the cliff, and then being more feared by the entire animal kingdom because of how fierce he would look on those winds. I would also imagine him being the predator instead of the prey to the Hyenas as he could easily catch one and fly away devouring it in the process.

Yeah, I know it's funny, what do you expect from a seven-year-old who watched this cartoon like 100 times as a child, plotting different scenarios to avert Mufasa's death? Now imagine that creature actually existed and I got to train it from birth, I would own the most fierce creature on earth. Then imagine being the only one with the ability to communicate with it, it would be super amazing as I would be able to fly to places I can't reach with the help of my pet 😂. I wouldn't need a car or plane to travel. One thing I loved most about the eagle in Yakari was how it couldn't be noticed despite doing a lot and I would wish that for my fantasy creature too. I remember when I had a very rare dog breed for a pet, I carried it out with so much pride and trained it to eat live animals… I can be adventurous when it comes to these things, I even named my dog funda from the same Yakari's cartoon lol
