MAKING HIVE REACHOUT BETTER
The hive reachout community is one of the few communities gradually making waves in the hive ecosystem. 6 months ago this community looked like a project that would just come and go in silence, but I must admit it has surpassed my expectations. I would say this because I knew when this community started, and it wasn't like this. Then even when it was stated that the community was exclusively to promote newbies, it didn't seem like much, I guess because it didn't have the Big names with lots of hive power supporting it, now we can see clearly that it's more than the names and the votes (even though it's very necessary 😂). It's about community support of which so far I can clearly see that this community has done their part in promoting as much as they can.
STRATEGIC APPROACH
I also feel the community can do better in their strategic approach to reachout to newbies. This community can stand out as a first learning environment for newbies, and if that must happen, things would have to be put in place to not just attract the newbies, but also old hivers. I would like to one day see the hive reachout community as not just a learning community but a place for everyone to grow. If the newbies finally get familiar with the hive ecosystem, the hive reachout community should be able to provide a platform for them to keep coming and also make them become old hivers as well. I've been on hive for three years now, and I can say I have tested a lot of communities, yet I have stuck to only a few with the hive reachout community gradually making that list.
Today, I write everyday because when I first joined hive, a community groomed me to write at least three times a week due to their four weekly contests which provide lots of rewards. Today I always look forward to their contest and because I have seen other communities I like (with hive reachout being one of them) but do not wish to leave that particular community I share all my posts into different days making me write daily. I feel if the moderators of the community can create another weekly contest for just newbies, it would encourage them to find a fortress in the community and later on they can join the general prompt making them committed even when they are no longer newbies.
Of course this would require a lot of support which I feel the community can get if they continue this good work, because the truth is you need something to attract people. It's one thing to write for a community knowing you stand a chance of getting something, it's another thing to write knowing you will definitely get something as long as you follow the rules. I feel having an active discord community that trains newbies and give people a hint of where they have interest in will go a long way, so the hive reachout moderators can partner with a lot of communities with the aim to send in newbies over there while securing support from those communities making this community stand out. At the end of the day, members of other communities will get to know about hive reachout as they will see it as a link to know more about hive.
