DRAGON OF THE WEST

It's been 3000 years since we said goodbye to the dragon of the West who protected our realm wizards.

Let us all rise as we draw power from the portrait that was taken of it 3000 years ago, where he put a potion of its powers so we can always draw from every 100 years.

Although our generation did not see the dragon of the West, the legend of this great dragon lives in our blood, and we can only draw from its power when we can behold the last roar, not just the one seen in the pictures, but the one we can see through our blood.

As elder Ian spoke, I began to concentrate and suddenly it was as though my blood began to boil and I could see through the eyes of my father and others I never knew.

A tingling sensation ran through my body as I opened my eyes and saw the dragon of the West making its last roar with its wings spread across. It was as though I was there and not there at the same time.

As I beheld the dragon roar, energy from its wings surged into me. It felt like I had different energies flowing through me, one from my ancestors and another from the dragon.

Now I know what it feels like to be a soldier of the West. I might not be the dragon, but its powers flow through me.
