A CONTROVERSIAL OPINION
The topic of abortion is one of the most controversial topics of the 21st century, while a lot are against it especially here in Africa there are a set of people who give different excuses to carry out the act. From allowing women to have control over their bodies, to abortion not being the same as murder because a zygote is not a human being yet. I'm not in a position of authority to determine what is wrong or right for others to follow, but I'm entitled to an opinion which I don't mind stating here regardless of what anyone thinks about it. I will try as much to be as practical as I can, and explain the reasons for my opinion to the best of my ability.

First of all, one thing I feel joins all those who have ever committed abortion and those who are supporting the abortion act, is that they are all running away from the responsibility of raising a child for whatever reason they may claim. Some feel it's not right to bring a child you can't take care of into the world, while others don't like the idea of children at all. Some even support it because they do not want their bodies to change after childbirth, and some are running away from shame (especially unmarried youths in Africa). There are even married couples who use abortion as a means of family planning probably because they already have the number of children they wish to have.
This brings me to ask all the reasons I've listed above a question… why not prevent instead of terminating? A woman carries life in her during pregnancy, and the process of removing life has ended a lot of lives, so why not just prevent it? I've seen first-hand the process of abortion and the pains the lady has to go through. Sometimes I ask myself why put myself through this pain when I could have avoided it from the beginning. This is the question I'm sure a lot of people who support abortion will hear and start looking at me with a bombastic side-eye. But then I do not care. If there are any morals I've learned as an African living in Nigeria is to always accept the consequences of my bad decisions and take responsibility for my actions.

If I say I do not see those who support abortion as responsible, I might look biased but that's the honest truth. Only those who feel they can eat their cake and have it will support abortion for whatever reason they claim. This is coming from someone who had to watch his girlfriend abort their twins because she wasn't ready to be a mother. So pardon me if I'm being sentimental here. Call it what you want, but removing a life that's growing inside you is as good as killing a person. Just because the system now legalizes anomalies doesn't make it right.
Life is not black and white. That is why we have options and choices and abortion happens to be either of them.
Abortion is also taking responsibilities for your actions by preventing further consequences in the future.
We all have our own opinion concerning abortion, whether its right or wrong but fact remains like everything else, it is a choice and a woman's right.
Yeah, everyone is entitled to an opinion
