Studying Game Design
I have taken my first steps toward something that I quiet through frustration shortly into my journey, or it could be start of a new beloved hobby.

Game Design
I bought the courses, and have also been looking a lot of different videos about creating games, and also the process of making assets in Blender, even just for the sake of getting myself used to at least the idea of what I'll be doing when I get started.
I've downloaded and installed Unreal Engine, and I even loaded it up, had a look at it and quickly closed it due to sheer terror. (It's part of my process)
The first thing I'm going to make is a Pong clone, as I watched a tutorial of it and think it looks easy enough, while also being able to get used to the process of making something playable. While I'd love to jump right into something like the next GTA, I think it's better to stick to something simplistic.
Also, while I have my own ideas floating around, I'd rather go with something that is already a thing so I can actually judge my work to the original.
Assembling A Team
What I really want is a small team of like-minded people who are interested in learning game design, and I want to gather up people who want to put some time and effort into creating some stuff. Going it alone isn't something I'd like to do, as I think it would be much easier to learn and stay motivated when you're surrounded with people who are in the same boat.
I've made a Discord server, and to be honest, it's fairly cool. I've put a good amount of effort into creating the different channels, and I can imagine it'll be a thriving creative space... (when people arrive)
So far I have 1 friend in there, and a handful of others have said they'll join too. I'm not in much of a rush to get people in, but it would be good for it to start moving a bit.
Me and the one other member are going to get together tomorrow for a bit of work. It may revolve around generating some ideas and figuring out a jumping off point, or we might just give Unreal Engine a lash and see what happens.
Discord, here's a link to the server if you want to join and get involved.
That's where I'm at so far with it, and I'm looking forward tomorrow.
I'm happy to have a bit of prior knowledge of Blender, because that's going to make the asset creation process not as daunting. But, I'm very much going into studying this with a fresh mind and as a blank slate.
