Remote Work

@ecency-star released a new prompt today asking us to talk about some of the benefits and opportunities of remote work.

Here's The Post If You'd Like To Have A Read of It, And Potentially Join In.

Remote Work

Remote working came to prominence during the pandemic, and it gave people the opportunity to carry on working while staying indoors.

I know a lot of people who actually really enjoyed working from home, due to the fact that they didn't need to travel/ pay for petrol or transport fees to go to the office. At the same time, however, not everyone would be suited for this style of work for many different reasons.

Some people may not have the room for home offices, and due to distractions at home their productivity may not be as good as it would be, were they in an actual office. Also, there's the social setting of being at work, which many people lost out on, due to working from home.

Opportunities

Numerous opporunities comes from working remotely, and one of the main ones would be freely being able to travel while also earning a wage each week.

This is something I would be delighted about, because currently with the housing crisis going on in Ireland, I would consider the opportunity to leave here for a place that doesn't charge ridiculously unaffordable rent for subpar property.

Obviously, with the baby, it would be hard to just up and leave for greener pastures, so for the time being I'm kind of stuck here. But, for someone without a partner, or kids, it could be a great chance for them to travel and see more of the world and find a better life.

My Own Experience

I enjoyed working remotely, but I did find it hard to find the get up and go, after a few months. It takes a lot of discipline to work of your own accord to a certain extent.

It's good that it's an option, and I'm sure there are many companies that utilise it so they can cut down on the costs of renting office spaces for their employees.

I love the social element of working and find it good getting out of the house to talk to people outside of your typical social circle. That's one thing I like about being a part of Hive - even though I don't consider it 'work' - it's a great place to socialise with friends, while also being able to earn some money for the work you put into it.

It's not enough to live off, but I've enjoyed my time here and have essentially treated Hive as a second savings account. All of my earnings have been kept in my account, allowing my stake on chain to grow. But, I've also put my own money towards it where possible.

I cant really say for sure if the disadvantages outweigh the advantages when it come to remote works but you have clearly stated one downside to it and I do agree with you.

Yeah, I think it really depends on the person. For generally introverted people who like to do their thing and clock off it's fine, but for more sociable people I don't think it would suit them.

Remote work make us bypass transportation cost, it's a perfect style of working and I admire it more than working in the office.

Yeah that's one good benefit to Remote working, with the current price of fuel or travel fares.

Working at our convenience is one of the major advantage of this job. We can peacefully look on other matters while working from home.

That is a very good point! I think Hive/Ecency helped many people to stay socialized during the Covid.
