I've Joined The Darkside
A few months ago, Aimee's dad gave my dad his old PS4, and after playing Uncharted for a while, my dad stopped using it, and it sat in the sitting room since then.
Then, a few weeks back, I got the idea to play it. The idea floated around for a while. However, I never acted upon it... Until today.
When I got back from work today, I set it up in my room.
Playing Little Big Planet
Today while I was in work I was struck with the urge to play Little Big Planet 1 with Aimee.
We've been looking for a good two player game to play, and after restarting and completing It Takes Two, we were stuck once more for something to play.
I remember really enjoying LBP as a kid, and thought it was a good two player game back then, so of course, I done what any rational person would do. I looked it up.
In my mind, the price was going to be €1.50 in CEX, but it was €6 for the first, and second game. Bit high, but whatever. Then upon inquiring it turned out they only had the discs without boxes and wanted near the same amount, so I thought, nah.
Went online, and it's a bit more expensive. But, the worst thing about that is that it wouldn't be here for a while, so I thought screw it.
I mentioned it to my sister and she said she actually bought the 3rd one for the PS4, but never got around to playing it. So, with this revelation I set the console up, and have waited until now to load it up and have a game with Aimee now that Kaleb is in bed.
The PlayStation Network
I lost my account from years ago so had to setup a new one which was handy enough to do, and after some scrolling around on the store I've come to realise that there a bunch of games that I'd really like to play on it.
Time is a different story all together, but maybe with it set up in my bedroom I'll be able to get an hour or so in when the others are asleep.
The Xbox has become kind of boring over the past few months, maybe even years. All of my mates have splintered and are hardly around, and if I do put it on I end up playing the same old game.
Halo Wars 2 is my go-to, and I do like it, but not being able to break the mould is a killer and doesn't make me want to go on it when I do get a minute. Maybe a change of scenery - and games - will help with the gaming block (is that a thing?)
We'll see. Ghost of Tsushima is one that I've wanted to get into for ages, and all of the Dynasty Warriors games seem to be on the PlayStation, whereas 9 is the only one available on Xbox.
I started out on the PS1, then the PS2. Those consoles were my life growing up, but when the Xbox 360 came out, that became my number 1 above all else. That, however, was mainly for the friends I made. Now there are no parties going, my friends list is mostly inactive, and the drive to head on has diminished - almost - entirely.
I survived the lobbies of MW 2, I beat every Halo game on Legendary. I became a fully fledged Gear... I've got some old stories about some of the insane clans I was a part of, and some even that I led. All those old memories are fresh and will forever be fond.
But, it's time to move on.
