Completing The Spirit Dropship
So, for the past year, or maybe even over a year I've had this build on the go. It's an absolute beast of a thing, weighing in at around 2,300 pieces.
Now, bare in mind, that many pieces for a build is immense and would be tough enough if they were already organised, but consider that mine was mixed into a big bag with numerous other sets, and you can get an idea of my frustration with the build.
That's also the reason it took me as long as it did; frustration, and burn out.

At this point I had both sides of the ship complete. I did have to go backwards at one point when I attached the ceilings of each section, because I noticed that one was build wrong, so that required me to completely undo it and start over.
That process didn't take too long though.

Seeing the cockpit/ control room of the ship come together was really cool, and it's interesting to see all the great little details throughout the build itself.

Here it is complete with the roof of the cockpit attached. The roof raises on a hinge to allow you to get in and place some figures.
This set is a great piece for the shelf, but there is also so much play-ability here too.

Here it is with the roof raised so you can get a better view of the inside of the ship and see what I mean.
It's just so cool and I was so happy to finally reach this point in the build and be able to see it in all of its glory.
This is the holy grail for many Halo Megabloks fans, and I'm so happy to own one of them.
Due to the rarity of them, the chances of ever owning one of these things is pretty slim.

Here it is with the side hatches open, and you can see all of the figures that came with this set. They're all so detailed, and behind them are these weapon stands which allows for one of hell of an arsenal to be brought along.

Here is a front view, and you can see the the tilt to one side. Realistically, for the troops to jump out they should be on the opposite side, but for the sake of lighting I have them on the raised one.

Even the front of the ship opens and you can see yet another hatch where figures can be placed.
You can also so a Ghost there in the centre of the shop, suspended and waiting to be dropped off. That Ghost is actually part of a separate set, but I kept it to one side with the intention of placing it there.
Luckily, nearly all of the pieces are accounted for, and all of the figures an weapons are present. Some pieces were missing from the set itself, but I did manage to replace those missing pieces with a bag of loose parts I have laying around.
Honestly, I don't think they could have made this thing any better if they tried, it's perfect. It's an ominous presence among any halo collection.
