Yeah typically the HE part is usually super fast. It’s slow temporarily rn
Over time, other routes will be added and swaps can aggregate through both VSC and HE
It will pick the fastest/cheapest route

Yeah, I'll be real interested to see how VSC works. If it is as decentralized as they say, then that would be the answer over Hive Engine.
I say this as a pissed off Hive Engine witness, lol.
Staking Hive for running a consensus node instead of staking $BEE token which is issued and controlled by one person
Hell, it's not even BEE, it's WORKERBEE which is even more controlled and consolidated with only a few people. So that sounds good to me. Maybe I need to look into running a consensus node and moving my resources over to VSC...

The testnet is active, but I suggest waiting until we have our mainnet package out first.
