Oh I am pool mining, I would rather actually get paid daily for something. I thought about getting a Bitaxe to solo mine with, but that's buying a $200 lottery ticket that costs you to operate. It's going to be a slow grind back up, but it'll be alright.

And no, I am not trying to monetize drones outside of Hive. It's a sacred hobby that will not be tainted by trying to turn it into a living, lol. I have done that too many times, lol.

seems like some compromises were made. Maybe not ideal but that’s the cost of getting more of the community onboard. The onboarding is going to make any future proposals much easier so I think it’s ok to be a bit political to get the initial support.

You should have them already, since when you create the account it prompts you to copy them before continuing.

Also, your keystone seed phrase is your main Hive key, the master. You can get the rest if you didn't save them at the beginning by importing your account to keychain

by that I don’t mean the initial signup. The friction now lies at the going from light to regular account. Would be cool if INLEO and keychain could work together to make it even smoother where people who don’t want to deal with their keys could just download a file with them so they have them and don’t have to do anything, their keychain is already set up automatically by Leo so they can use hive-engine and splinterlands and vimm or whatever

Influencers work when you have a product to sell, like clothing. Something like a social media only gets attention when people start using it, and onboard more, and the community thrives. Basically we have to create our own influencers within Inleo.

It was an idea before, we tried, but the result was like I said, people came and went because their people weren't here yet. That's why the focus is on onboarding communities and projects all together.

Also, YouTube, Instagram, etc, they didn't pay influencers to promote, the influencers were born within the platform, and we joined because we wanted to see what they published there.

This usually needs some centralization due to the need of connecting to the credit card services, etc.

But maybe with a P2P function where Person A puts a fiat order to pay to Person B in crypto, and it's fulfilled by a person C who takes the order, receives person A Fiat and fulfill it liberating the crypto to Person B

That would totally work....if the credit cards and paypal didn't shut it down, which I believe they would in most countries. It might work in some countries where the government isn't as on top of these things.

But who knows what will change this year! I sincerely hope for this because I want to earn and spend HBD outside of Hive and I don't imagine other shops will join distriator in Tokyo anytime soon. @tentententen will be the first!

Yeah US is strict enough but Japan is way stricter. No bitcoin ATMs, no binance. Only 3 or 4 local exchanges I believe. I can't even get on my coinbase with a regular VPN so I'm completely cut off unless I open an account at a Japanese exchange which I'm not even sure will allow you to send to wallets outside of their system.... as centralized as crypto could be

Na, won’t get in trouble, I don’t work for them anymore, haha. To be honest, it’s not as interesting as you would think. They don’t tell the employees much at all. We find out stuff the same time the public does unless you are part of product launch team like I was with Apple Pay/Apple Cash. With that you are basically given a NDA until launch. That’s a part of how they keep things under wraps until they announce it. We weren’t even allowed to talk about rumors and such. Apple is a clut-ure for sure, lol. All I know now is that I still trusted their encryption and privacy features, but governments are trying to force them to either kill E2EE or give them a “legal back door”. And that I am not down with. But then again, is anything in the digital world safe anymore?

i am hoping we can get an incentive not only to create new accounts (which opens opportunities to game the system) but also to be active on one account.

My suggestion:

  • no free upvotes for new accounts (incentive to game the system)
  • 1 month of free premium for new accounts
  • achievement system combined with multipliers for rewards (think x1.1, x1.2 ect) - based on # upvotes, threads, account age.

That way we create an incentive to keep being active after the first month.
