Photo of a worthy day

This image might just look like an ordinary picture of me and many boxes stacked up high, it isn't on this day my plans with my friend materialized, we went out for the first after our final year exams and thesis stress to shake it off. behind me was a work of art by a Ghanaian artist and collector Ibrahim Mahama at his Red Clay Studio in Tamale, Ghana.

This stacked boxes is an art installation. They aren't just ordinary boxes but mostly boxes known as 'shoe shine box' these boxer are used to carry tools for shoe repairs and polishing.

Going out to Red Clay was a planned thing but on the day we went it was unplanned. So it was Saturday and I was doing my usual Saturday activities I got a call from my friend who suggested we go to red clay today at first i was skeptical but then i agreed and I am glad i accepted. since the art studio opened it's been years and I hadn't been there I've only seen pics of friends who had been there. I've always wanted to go there reading about it wasn't really enough. And thats how i found myself there. my friend came with her friend too. The middle guy.

Behind us was an art installation made from old stretchers. At this point we had to ask our guide take us a pic.

I would have love to show you ladies more pictures of the place but unfortunately I a chunk when my previous phone got spoilt. I didn't save them to my cloud.

Here was another installation made out of local Ghanaian pots turned upside down.

One of my favourite artwork was this collection of the African local print clothes, it was so beautiful and colourful.

Im not trying to bore you all with pictures. 😂 but these images I posted here reminds me of a day I went our with my close friend after a tough last semester and also having different type of fun an educational one because we learnt a little about Ghanaian history.
