What is stress ?
Stress is your body's response to a demanding situation. Stress is a natural response that prompts or enable us to deal with challenges, threats or dangerous situations.

Sometimes stress maybe beneficial, A certain amount of stress can make us act or react quick and also help us reach goals and perform better perhaps during an interview, exam etc. This is called good stress.
However prolonged or extreme stress can harm your body and health as well. This can cause you to suffer, emotionally, mentally and even physically. It can also affect your behavior or how you relate with others. Now this bad stress.
Extreme or chronic stress can lead to substance abuse or unhealthy methods of coping with it and this may lead to depression or thoughts of suicide.

How does stress affect your body?

  • Your heart beats faster and harder
  • how your body processes food is disrupted
  • Your muscles tenses might result in muscle spasm, body aches
  • Your system produces certain hormones to cope
  • you breathe faster
  • your sexual desire is affected
  • high blood pressure

and more. generally stress sffects your health in one way or the other

What are the causes of stress?
Causes of stress differs individually.

  • divorce
  • poverty and hardship
  • severe illness
  • death of a loved one
  • unemployment
  • loss of job
  • disasters
  • hectic pace of life
  • crime
    and many other more.

It is a sad reality that children also go through stress due sexual, emotional or physical abuse, bullying, neglection bad parenting, and bad grades

How to cope with stress
In order to deal with stress effectively, you need to think about your health, priorities ,how you relate with others basically what is important to you. Below are some ways to deal with stress

  • identifying and knowing the cause of your stress
  • taking good care of your health
  • setting reasonable and realistic standards and goals
  • pursue a balanced life
  • have enough rest
  • being orderly
  • setting your own priorities
  • seek assistance or advice when you need it
  • Knowing yourself
  • therapy

I personally believe one can live and maintain a stress free life though you maybe confronted with challenging situations or stress, if you are discipline and believe in your self you will find ways to cope and get back on track.
