Gothic Styled Stacking: Monarch's 2018 & 2022 Limited Edition Halloween Silver bars

Set your dapp to Dark mode as I have updated my Monarch Precious Metals Halloween Tombstone bars collection. I am sort of hesitant about it acquiring the 2024 version’s Party zombie that is currently available. Why? I’ll explain later.

“Black birds tend to like shiny things.” ~ The Bloody Raven

First, I will have to introduce my new adorable stuffy black cat named, Twilight and he is going to help me introduce some of my latest back dated adds to my Monarch Precious Metals Tombstone Halloween series silver bars.
"Say Hello to my followers Twilight."
(Imagined, “Meow.” )
“What do you have in your right paw Twilight?”
(Imagined, “Meow.” )
“You found a knife? Of all my blades you pick this one little beauty. You got great taste for a cute little stuffy toy. I’ll have to put it away and talk about it later.”
(Imagined, “Meow.” )
“You are so adorable, just hold these for me.”

The 2022 Limited Edition Tombstone Silver Bars

It’s a ‘Catch up’ game for me. This annual series began before I started and I’ve experienced a few tough lean years missing a few in the past. I would like to complete the set, yet I am not going far of the way to get that done unless the opportunity does present itself.

2022 2 Troy oz. Spooky Tree Silver Bar
image.png
Front; Spooky Tree, moon
Text; RIP
44.7mm x 26.6mm x 5.8mm
62.37g, .999 Fine Silver

The anthropomorphic spooky tree in itself is not an iconic Halloween feature but always sets the mood of any scene requiring the element of suspense, fear and horror.

My favorite Trees gone bad scene;

Imagine a forest full of them.😱

2022 2 Troy oz. Spooky Tree Silver Bar
image.png
Back; MPM Crown Logo
Text; 2 TROY OUNCE, 999 FINE SILVER
Serial Number 183 of 2500 minted.
Matte finish

The series has evolved over the years having subtle changes as each year came and passed. Each production year capped at 2500 with private poured styled Investment silver and small market I won’t expect to get any premium on resale.

In the context of this annual series, this 2022 version shifts from the Brilliant polish to the old toned vintage style of bar.

Next Tombstone Bar

This older bar came out as a gimmicky experiment trading off the shiny for the iridescent eerie glow. Sounds cool huh?

2018 2 Troy Oz. Jack-O-Lantern
image.png
Front; Three Jack-o-lanterns, 2 bats
Text; R.I.P., 999 FINE SILVER, 2 ozt
44.7mm x 26.6mm x 5.8mm
62.43g, .999 Fine Silver
882 of 2500 minted
The back has been the same design for the series.

”When the lights go out!”
image.png

MPM did not continue this in the following year’s edition so give them a little credit for trying but it doesn’t really work with me.

And while we’re on Pumpkins…

My 2024 Garden results, one Pumpkin.
image.png

Only one Pumpkin has grown to the size of almost 30 cm in diameter. I consider this a success. I started with four seeds with one vine surviving long enough to produce this one fruit. The goal next year will be two fruit and hopefully a little bigger than this one. It’s more than enough for one yummy pie.

And for the my Exotic Kabocha squash.
image.png

This alien fruit is also known as a Japanese pumpkin with a different texture and a sweeter taste. This fruit measures about 16 cms diameter and not very big from insufficient watering being once again the cause. I started with four seeds with one vine surviving all the bug and snail attacks. We’ll try again next year.

Now, about that knife…

"Twilight is such a smart kitty."
(Imagined, “Meow.” )
“I thought I recognized the ‘CLICK’, ‘CLICK’, ‘CLICK’ in the early hours of the morning. I checked my sons but they were sleeping. You had this knife on your furry lap. Were you playing with this knife?”
(Imagined, “Meow.” )

MicroTech UTX-70 Automatic
image.png
Configuration; OTF; Out of The Front
Blade Length 2.42”, Total Length 5.92”
Comes in various colors.
MSRP $360USD

A discreet knife based on the full sized Ultratech series that can be carried in a watch pocket, on a key-chain, or in a purse.

(Imagined, “Meow.” )
“Why Twilight, I didn’t know you liked sharp pointy things. This can be too dangerous for a Kitty to play with. I can’t I cannot emphasize this enough, this is NOT A TOY!” 🔪

I still carry my Kershaw 4035TIKVT folding as my everyday carry in the event of an emergency or need. I can’t legally use this UTX-70 because my government deemed it illegal along with Butterfly knives and Shurikens. 🙄

This does have the heft and feel of a quality knife, Lighter weight than a full sized knife, comfortable grip, and sounds really badass when I push the Thumb switch to deploy the dagger styled blade with a distinct “CLICK!” Retracting the blade is just as instantaneous with a little more effort to pull back on the Thumb switch.

Monarch Precious Metals are among the first that pioneered the Halloween theme in poured silver products. The 2024 Tombstone Edition is a return to the Zombie theme wearing a party hat? This is somewhat a kooky departure as well as recycling the old 2015 Zombie bar. But what do you think? Should Monarch retire this series? Got a suggestion for 2025?

That is some nice silver, I love the tomb stones! And that's one dangerous kitty named Twilight, playing with knives.... That knife is nice too!

It's always hard playing catch up on a series when you start collecting after they started. Hope you're feeling a little better!

Fun Silver to me, I love Halloween.
I’m passively looking for the back dated Witch and the Spider versions if I feel more ambitious in completing the set.

Twilight is peculiar toy stuffy cat. He’s usually on my desk but I think he wanders all over the house during the night. I hear sounds of someone rustling through drawers, flatware, clicking knives, something weighty dragged on the floor, doors creaking open just a bit, etc. Should he find my Ninja arsenal?
Must be my imagination.

Putting health first.

Wow, encouraging me to post more often.
I could divide my 12 Scottsdale Halloween bars and spread those throughout the year and not try to cram them all in October.

Thank you @geneeverett and @geneandashlee for the gift that keeps on upvoting,🎃👻🦇

I love all those tombstone silvers! I wanta get some.

That knife is cool too. Unfortunately it's just a hair too long—it'd be illegal here, making it a nono for me. With the Japanese police more than happy to search foreigner homes and the courts always looking the other way, it wouldn't be worth it for me to even have at home. Nice to look at though!

My legendary liberal government loves to make laws, especially nonsensical ones that we know the far majority are law abiding except for the gangs and career criminals. 2.42 inches too long? How about these? Would I be arrested in Japan for open carry a 40 inch Ninjatu? 40 inch Katana? 30 inch Wakazashi? I would get stopped and questioned for carrying a possible weapon wrapped in a silk cozy onto a bus.

BTW, Eishin Ryu style of Iaido is taught here at the University of British Columbia. I was hoping there would be a class taught closer like Burnaby at the Nekkai Centre for me. I do have a set of wood Bokken too.
Good luck getting a MPM Tombstone bar @dbooster

Unfortunately. They are incredibly strict here. Various sharpened swords are allowed in certain cases (pretty much only for martial arts or swordsmiths) but you have to be licensed and have to have it renewed yearly. Tons of red tape. For everyone else, nope, not allowed.

A bloody license.
This could keep me from acquiring an accreditation with my solo study of Katori Shinto Ryu.
I can imagine that even an expert Sushi chef must annually register his kitchen knives.

And buying what I like even when I know that I can never recover the premium and treated as generic. Higher prices will solve that issue 😄
It's FUN silver!
The variety of investment grade silver bullion is so mind boggling now from the time when we started Stacking. I feel grateful that I met my primary silver Stacking goal.
Grateful that I was able to afford silver bullion.
Grateful for the friends we made along the way.
Grateful that I have a sister like you to Stack with me.

Always, with love 🤗🌺❤️

I think the tombstone pieces are very cool. Maybe they should keep it, but come up with something really stellar to put on it.

I love Twilight! So cute!

Your pumpkin is adorable; at least you got one; I didn't get any, lol! I watered, but to no avail. (sigh)

Thank you for sharing and take care! !LADY !LUV !HOPE🤗😘💜🌻

Noted.
Twilight is cute but I also get the feeling there's more to him than typical stuffy toy cat behavior, almost haunted?
Since we have a low Bee count I took it upon myself to manually pollinate the female flower with a fine paint brush. Voila, pumpkin. 🎃

You will just have to observe Twilight and see how he matures in personality. (if he's haunted, he should have a personality of some variety). Could be interesting!

I'm glad you got a pumpkin. I have plans to try to improve my situation, but that's for next year. We shall see! Take care sis! !HOPE🤗💜🐝🐝🎃

Very much noted @stokjockey

It feels more satisfying growing my own Jack-o-lantern even when I know it is cheaper and much less effort to grow one from a Heritage variety seed and none of those dangerous GMO Monsanto varieties they try to shove in our faces.🎃

This has been my favorite way to store my savings over the last ten years. I do have regular savings like GICs, Mutual funds and some stock but they are nominally taxable, always subject to inflation and counter-party risk.

As for the pumpkin, this is my first season of gardening after being absent for too long. A satisfying feeling of accomplishment.
