Basil Magic: The Easy Art of Propagating from Cuttings
I recently tried rooting basil because I had no idea it could multiply just from stem cuttings. I saw a video on Facebook showing how to do it, and it's surprisingly easy to propagate basil.

When I discovered how easy it is to grow basil, I promptly decided to pick some branches from the basil plants I spotted on the roadside on my way home.

I picked four branches to test if what I saw was true. When I arrived home, I washed them, removed some leaves, and trimmed them to the desired length.

After washing and cutting the basil, I prepared a glass filled halfway with water and submerged the basil I had prepared for rooting. I placed the glass with the basil outside the house because, based on what I've seen, it needs to be exposed to light, but I made sure it wasn't in direct sunlight to prevent the water from drying out.

On the first day, after about 6 hours, I noticed that the cut basil appeared wilted and as if it might wither or die. I decided to leave it be, not expecting it to survive.
After more than 16 hours, I was amazed to find that its leaves and branches were still alive. I also quickly noticed a small root bud forming. This is when I confirmed that basil branches can indeed root quickly.

Now, on the third day, it's even more vigorous, and some of its roots have started to sprout.

I've been adding only a small amount of water to the glass to sustain the roots' growth. Based on what I've observed, by the tenth day, it will have developed many roots and can be transplanted to a larger area. Now, I just need to prepare the location and soil for relocating the basil before the tenth day arrives.
