In the Fold of our Pains

Jollof rice, not every day for us,
Sometimes it's just garri to stay.
But in the fold of hope and song,
We find the strength to carry on.

We share one bed, we play outside,
We run and jump, no place to hide.
The power’s gone, but stars are bright,
We dance and sing into the night.

In the fold of love and grace,
We wear our struggle like fine lace.
Nigeria’s tough, but we are gold—
Strong and happy in the fold.
