5mindailyfreewrite - Commemorate To All 200 Murdered Soldiers By Boko Haram

In honor of fallen over 200 soldiers morder today in Nigeria

Credit

We stand today with heads held low,
To say the things we need to show.
To all the soldiers brave and strong,
Who’ve walked the path so dark, so long.

They left their homes, their children's cries,
To fight beneath the burning skies.
Their wives at home with tears and fear,
While they held guns instead of cheer.

They wore their boots, not knowing when,
They’d see their family again.
But still they marched, both day and night,
To guard our peace, to guard our light.

Over two hundred brave ones gone,
In Northern part of Nigeria, the fight went on.
Boko Haram took lives away,
Yet still more soldiers chose to stay.

They saw the danger, still they went,
With hearts so bold, on war they bent.
Not for fame or shiny pay,
But just to keep our fears away.

So let us cry, but not in vain,
Their sacrifice is not for shame.
Let’s raise our hands, our hearts so wide,
To thank the ones who stood with pride.

They died for you, they died for me,
To keep this land safe and free.
So every year, we’ll say their name,
And commemorate their love and flame.

We won’t forget what they have done—
Our brothers, fathers, every one.
We’ll tell their story, loud and clear,
So even children know and hear.

To all the soldiers, brave and true,
This poem is our gift to you.
We salute your courage, hearts so pure,
Your name in time will still endure.
