Franklin

During a three day work visit to Ibadan, my phone stopped working, leaving me with little to do except what I love most creating art. I took out my sketchbook, and inside it was a copy of a hundred dollar note.

With time on my hands, I decided to sketch Benjamin Franklin, completing the drawing in about one hour. To express my personal concept and cultural identity, I added a Yoruba man’s Fila (traditional cap) to his head, blending Western imagery with Yoruba heritage.
