This week was filled with a parallel series of occurrence.
With this week already seeing its end, it feels quite obvious that this has been one of those weeks where I had to experience a parallel series of occurrence with each new day. It felt like the set of events that unfolded each day of the week were a repeat of the previous day and I couldn't stop wondering if I was really prepared to face the drama of each day.
Some of those occurrences are;
This week kicked off with news of the death and burial ceremony of the mother-in-law of one of my colleagues. He told me about that at the end of the previous week and he had to travel with his family to participate in the burial ceremony. This colleague of mine is someone I've worked with for almost two years and he's someone I hold in high regard.
He did his best to make sure he won't leave any stone unturned while going for the burial and I also didn't want anything to unsettle him during the occasion. I kept in touch to know how the occasion was unfolding and he was grateful for that show of concern. We both got through that at the very fresh start of the week. The occasion was held nicely and the dead were buried peacefully.
This week also kicked off with a full 30 hours without electricity. Anyone who has enough info about Nigeria would know that this isn't really breaking News. I wasn't too shocked about that because shit happens a lot regarding our electricity distributors. However, the issue this time around was due to a nationwide strike that was executed by the Nigerian Labor Congress (NLC). They decided to shut down the national grid as part of their strike action.
The real reason for the strike is the same reason for most of the strike actions that have been carried out by NLC since two decades ago. It has always been about salary payment or an appeal for a salary increment. The strike was temporarily called off after a day and the national grid was reopened afterwards. As we are already getting into a new week, it would be interesting to know if we will be getting an additional strike action from them.
It has also been a very rainy week. The weather in Nigeria is usually hot so I love anything that helps calm the hotness of the weather. Rainfall never fails to do a good job and we've been getting a lot of that since this week. It even rained at several intervals today. The only dicey thing about having this much rainfall is that I barely get enough sunshine to charge my solar panel to a decent percentage each day.
The high cost of living is still a thing and it seems to be getting worse each week. I went shopping at some point this week and I noticed that the increased price of goods is becoming widely insane. Most of the things I bought are food items and I'm not even kidding when I say that the high cost of things has become ridiculous.
This whole week has been a bumpy ride with so much back and forth. I'm so relieved that we are already wrapping up the week. And, I'm preparing for what the next week will throw on my path.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma.

You see that strike ehhhhh, I was so frustrated, I had to go to a distant place to charge my phone, the food in the fridge that is very expensive I had to eat them in one day, the way things are increasing in the market is incredible but we will keep pushing.
The food-in-fridge experience is very similar to what I had to deal with. I had some food in fridge which I wasn't even planning to touch until midweek. But, the moment I heard about the strike, I immediately readjusted my food timetable.
Thankfully, my freezer was frozen so the food I had were okay until we regained Electricity.
Mine is a very good freezer but I never knew it was off before the strike, it really affected me badly but no option naaa
The strike was very destabilizing. Thankfully, I had powerbanks at home charged in full. The issue lay with a lack of water. The place I was in when the strike happened suffered from the lack of water, and it was just a tiring situation.
It was a very tough experience. Having to stay without sufficient power supply is already a big issue. Adding insufficient water supply to that is enough to cause a big headache. Haha.
We all will survive the drama in this country.
