There are multiple reasons why we admire people and it's usually tied to the things we rate highly as individuals. Most of the time, when I think of why I really admire a particular person, it usually hints at my value structure. It's so much easier for me to admire people who have a lifestyle and attitude that I see as valuable.

Sometimes, the admiration I have for someone usually comes from me thinking that I would like to do something they are doing or something they did. Of course, this makes it self-evident that I do not have any admiration for someone who's in the habit of doing things I frown upon.

The big question then is, who do I admire?

I admire people who are responsible and those who are not afraid to step up and take responsibility. People like that will break their bones in half and do their work to the best of their ability in anything they are responsible for. If they start building a family, they do their best to be responsible parents and partners.

I also admire people who make an effort to take care of themselves and their environment. They want to be in good shape. So, they try to watch their nutrient intake and exercise their body with fairly consistent workouts. They do a good job of keeping their environment clean and tidy.

I also admire people who do not allow fear or pressure to stop them from doing what's right. They stay honest. They don't steal. They don't treat people like shit. They work hard, tell the truth, etc. I genuinely admire people like that because I know the cost of doing what's right in this modern society.

I'm also on the path of living an admirable life. I want to look at my life and be proud of the decisions I've made and the ones I'm making.
